Caleb Clarke is currently one of the best 11’s in the world. This season he was the best wing in super rugby and the best wing in the AB’s. And yet doesn’t even scratch the top 80 😂

Utter joke. You’re telling me the Boks have no 9 on the list, Pollard at 27 behind Russell, Barrett and others. Tuipulotu and Barrett ahead of DDA, Huw Jones, Ioane, Menoncello ahead of Kriel. No Fassi or Willie on the list. So are we just accepting that the Boks have apparently the 4th or 5th best backline this year??? What kind of sick joke is this, Scotland and the All Blacks supposedly have a better 9, 10, 12, 13 and 15 than the Boks.

Bongi also starts ahead of Marx, but Marx much better. Sometimes DMac starts ahead of Richie or BB, but starter not necessarily better than bench player. Best example: Manie starting, Pollard from the bench.

@ Speak English please. No one can with a straight face tell me Tuipulotu and Jones, as well as Barrett and Ioane should be ranked higher than DDA and Kriel. Keep in mind, according to this list Scotland have a better backline than South Africa, but last year they scored 3 points against the Boks, and this year they managed 1 try at home against a literal full second team Springbok backline.

Cheslin Kolbe is the best rugby player ever. Why ; Best attacker, best stepper, best general play, brilliant defender, brilliant out of air box kicks and other, brilliant kicker, brilliant passer, exceptional speed ! Has as a wing put the ball into the scrum and line-out. Kicked a drop-goal for Toulon from 50metres ball landing on dead-ball- line. Nothing that he can not do well World Cup with ball in hand he flattend Frances no 6 Jelonch. This year 1st Test v NZ as a 78kg he levelled Scott Barrett 118kg onto his arse !!! Barrett's brothers are going to tease him for life " do you remember the day at Ellis Park when you tried to tackle a 78kg from Springboks .............. !!! " .

@ Kolbe is the best defensive winger in the world, and his work rate is nuts. Tries aren’t everything. Kolbe does more on attack despite not scoring as many.

I agree with you about the Olympics comp was poor... Du Pont shouldn’t be ranked as the number one player in the world this year. While I do acknowledge his talent, there’s been a lot of overhype around him. We all knew he'd be ranked number one, but personally, I don’t place much value on the Rugby Pass Top 100 even though there are many Springboks in the Top 10 ...

Andrew Porter? He's not even the best player in his position,I have at least three dudes ahead of him. To be the best player, you need to be the best in your position, not the "best" just because you play 80 minutes for your team due to a lack of depth. Pieter-Steph Du Toit plays 80 minutes and plays every game as if it's a final. Are you telling me Andrew Porter is better than him? Du Toit can play multiple positions and excels in each one. I'm almost certain Andrew Porter wouldn't make the starting team for the top teams in the world, apart from Ireland (and that's due to their lack of depth). Heck, I don't even think he'd make the bench. Also I think James Lowe is more crucial to the Irish team than him.

@@9hdf_landing2 I don't think Porter is the best player in the world, that's a heavy exaggeration, he's in the top 2 or 3 props. I wouldn't have an issue picking Ox over him but the minutes aren't just about lack of depth at loosehead, Porter is good enough to keep Healy on the bench for 70-80 minutes and Healy is not a bad prop even though he's old.

Thanks for giving Porter his props (pun intended). I don't think he's the best player in the world, but he is an absolute freak of nature, and one of the most IMPORTANT players in the world when it comes to his team. Guy just casually plays 80 minutes in a position where others play 40-60 and is top quality around the park.

Rugby should bring collars back to jerseys as that 150th anniversary jersey looks fantastic because of it. As for coaching tactics Matt Williams has no right to lecture anyone on their failings. He was an awful head coach for Leinster and Scotland. I think the new senior men’s six logo looks atrocious, the letter design is a head wrecker and makes no sense. Looks like it was completed in a lunch break despite costing an arm and a leg. A complete blasphemy against Rugby Union’s oldest test match competition. The French are being ridiculous, Ireland took its best players to New Zealand in 2022 which is normal for the Irish summer tours. According to your logic, Ireland is more likely to win a world cup. I still have not forgiven the French and English for damaging the Champions Cup.

Thanks to the World Cup now it's all about the World Cup and while I'm not saying teams "throw " a test it used to be that every test was important and you do everything possible to win (within the rules). As Ireland's coach Farrell has to develop depth so i see that point of view. @@Wildkard
