I had my pallet done years ago with colour me beautiful and was classed as spring, then years later I had them redone and came out as a summer, I wear a lot of black and white now plus blue reds and pastel colours so I've no idea what I'm really classed as, light silver grey suits me extremely well near my face, my skin is ivory. No idea what I am

That yellow / green capsule made me ridiculously happy. Guess I have to incorporate more of that in my life. Also love the idea of a brown trouser. I look boring in a brown top but as a trouser... Yesss!

Great video. Scarves are my absolute favourite and I’m lucky to have some which belonged to my mother and both grandmothers. I’m only 5’3’’ so they are a great way of wearing my best colours even though there aren’t always many choices in petite ranges.

I really liked these colour combinations. What’s nice about it is that you can pick three colours and interchange them, so a tan jacket and blue polo neck could become a blue jacket and tan polo neck, etc.

Some of us don't wear turtlenecks not because we don't like the look, but because of other issues. I can't wear anything that touches the base of my neck without feeling like I'm choking and therefore tugging at it all day. Also, I love the look of these outfits but they are not practical for me for any type of indoor activity. People keep their indoor environments too warm. I'd be perspiring within minutes!

1. This isn't going to work in the height of a Canadian winter. You'll need a coat on top of that. 2. If you dress like that to feel warm outside, you'll be too warm inside with a long sleeve turtleneck on. 3. Warm coats are the way to go for me. They keep you warm outside and you can wear something more appropriate for interior spaces underneath. Now we could discuss why office spaces and shops keep their places so warm in winter and cold in summer but that would be an entirely different discussion.
@carolthomas852819 күн бұрын
I don’t think these clothes were ever intended for the “height of the Canadian winter” .

I was always wary of buying higher quality, more expensive staple items until I decided to keep them if/when I change sizes. Now I have nice clothes in a few sizes and I love it. I have definitely had clothes that made me feel bad when they were too small and I agree you should just get rid of them. But for me choosing to keep more expensive staple items has been freeing, as long as they are a size I am often in.
@kettlewell_colours19 күн бұрын
A great way to look at it! We understand the difficulty when fluctuating, however quality staples not only last longer but make everything feel just that little bit more elevated 🌈

@kettlewell_colours29 күн бұрын
You can translate the rules into your own style preferences, it's the colour rules that apply to make it work. Same goes with denim. For example you might try a Rich Chocolate tailored trouser or a Navy corduroy skirt as your dark neutral and a cream dress or white shirt as your light neutral... it's completely adaptable to you! 😊🌈

@joangravelle845529 күн бұрын
But how do you know which pieces to make which colours?, I see you generally have 2 in each colour.
@kettlewell_colours29 күн бұрын
The beauty of a cohesive colour palette is that you have the freedom of choice! As long as you keep within the realms of your palette, all your pieces will mix and match endlessly. For example you could have 5 mustard tops and 5 chocolate trousers and they will all pair, or you could have 2 mustard tops, one chocolate trousers, 1 olive skirt and 2 cream jackets and they will still all pair... the number of pieces in each colour is entirely up to you! 🌈

Can you please do a capsule wardrobe for a Spring colouring for someone that wants a more serious look? My colours as a Spring include turquoise and salmon but I can’t stand them. I always feel I look like a children’s entertainer in these bright colours when I want to look polished and classic. Desperate for some help. I like navy and oatmeal but need a change. Thank you!
@edennis857829 күн бұрын
Another Spring, here. I only wear one bright color at a time, usually a top. For a professional setting, your colors don't have to be bright as much as clear. In other words, dusty or muted tones aren't usually good (they make *me look dead, that's for sure). I do well with light colors like aqua and sea glass tops; also beige, very pale clear gray, ivory, royal blue, even dark (warm) rusty red. Bright blouses might be good for certain presentations and speeches.

What about cognac or saddle tan? I've found that someone, somewhere, is going to see almost every color as something... inconvenient. It got to the point once where I was afraid to wear anything but navy and burgundy. Not my best colors. I finally gave up worrying (too much) about colors I wear. It was driving me stark, staring mad.

It might be helpful to play with lighter shades of brown that are used more commonly as a neutral base such as camel/tan as @edennis8578 suggested! This will hopefully make your outfit feel more sophisticated and elegant and less 'tree-like' 😂🌈

Different denim suits different people? This is an eye opening revelation for me. I have light denim which i enjoy but then i have darker denim that just sits there. I feel like i should have it in my wardrobe as it is a bit smarter but it never gets worn. Maybe it is just not me 😮
