Great inspirational Videos, Jo. Will you show examples for other seasons as well? I am a muted Summer or soft cool dark, and I really struggle to put outfits together that don't look boring. Summers tonal look can feel very washed out and insipid. I don't feel myself in light pinks and violets. They don't suit my extrovert, quirky personality. I love the darker, muted shades of the autumn Palette, they are much more me, I suit teal and Aubergine, those Crossover colours between autumn and summer. But there must be more for me than just those two shades plus navy. I only like one half of the Palette, that I received after colours analysis, and I think the other half needs to be made up of autumn and Winter colours to truly represent the colours that suit me. So please more videos on other palettes and for certain personality types.

Certainly a pointer as to why to chose the best quality basic pants, skirts and jackets. Colour pops with this years colours can be insxpensive additions that keep it all fresh.

Yes, elegant and practical acquisitions. This year, I finally bought a pair of tall, leather riding boots and I'm so happy with them. I waited 3 years to find what I wanted and I managed to get them on sale. So far, cost per wear is up there but it'll come down in time. The next item I really want is a merino sweater to replace the one that got a hole in it after 5 years. I was pretty disappointed, as the colour was the perfect Autumn version of warm burgundy/mahogany, one of this season's hottest colours. I find a merino sweater is such a comfortable, elevated basic that's ideal for travel. I really need another one.

Thanks, great video! What I am doing as a spring type is dyeing my jeans. The lighter ones get an azur tone and the darker ones a yellowish dark blue. I use Simplicol which is easy to use if you follow their instructions. However, I do not know whether you get it in the UK. They have many different colours and the colour you get is pretty close if not the same as on the packaging.

I've never consciously chosen which colour denim to go for, but this video clarifies things for me. Sometimes I didn't know why the denim and top wasn't working as an outfit, so I'd blame either the top or the denim, without considering whether the another shade/wash of denim would have pulled it together better. Thanks Jo, always find your videos food for thought. As a cool summer I prefer lighter denim but struggle to wear it in the winter with darker shoes/boots and coats in the winter.

I think when you can’t stop thinking about something, it’s a must. I tend to gravitate towards what I know won’t date. Items such as trenches, cashmere roll necks, cable knits, straight leg denim and trousers don’t date and I agree with really thinking about what makes us happy and what we use most often. Really good quality basics are essential. I’m not sure what my season is however 😂.

I love Jo's emphasis on how the wardrobe FEELS as well as the colour palette. With colour analysis there is huge emphasis on warm/cool light/deep, bright/muted, but if the colours' look good' on you, but don't 'feel good' to you to wear, then the system doesn't really work. I struggled with this for years as a very strong Natural personality in a Winter palette. When I finally realised I didn't like wearing most of the Winter palette, and investigated the Deep palette (which draws on both Winter and Autumn) I found I was able to put together clothes that looked good but also made me feel relaxed and happy.

SO great to see someone else talking about creating a capsule wardrobe which is much more suited to the individual and their colouring (and style) rather than the usual 'you need x number of things' and that they need to include a white shirt/tshirt and camel trench coat !!

Thank you, Jo! Wonderful advice for starting out. Personally, I don't feel comfortable in any denim. My weekend wardrobe is based around the Kettlewell weekend skirt and casual trousers. So I would adapt your advice to "a dark neutral, a light neutral and THREE brights." I'm sure other viewers will have their own ways of adapting your advice to suit their personal tastes and lifestyle. Fortunately, the Kettlewell collections are broad enough to supply something for all of us!

Such a lovely video, Jo. Like others, I found it really helpful to see the outfits being worn. I love your two rules, too, they make so much sense and you have integrated them so beautifully. You will look lovely and feel happy throughout the holidays! (Unfortunately these rules don’t actually work for me, as the ‘right’ colour palette for me is one I dislike and feel uncomfortable wearing.)

As an Autumn, I love khaki and olive shades - I can't wear black and white and jewel tones look all wrong on me. More muted browns, creams and greens? I am here for it!!
