As a casual player in both systems, I find the constant adjustments in the 40k rules require more time to learn than I am willing to allocate to it. Also the three year edition cycle is just ridiculous. It's a constant cash grab. Codex books come out as an edition is ending just to be invalidated within weeks or months. Broken codexes on release proves there is very little to no play testing Legion rules rarely change and there seems to be more play testing involved. I like the alternating activation rules of legion, and it would add a great deal of tactical depth of 40k. It becomes a chess match rather than whoever gets first turn has a serious firepower/tactical advantage and the other player plays catch up from then on.

I can buy every model in a legion faction for half of what it costs to run a 2k list in 40k. The you go I go rules in 40k are a joke. It’s 2024, why does the ruleset for 40k feel like I’m playing a game from 1996? The real question should be should you play AoS or Legion.

Big fan of 40k lore and i play it for over 20 years. Just recently swap over to star wars Legion and i am having more fun than i every did playing 40k

40k lore is way better. Way more people playing it. And the models are gorgeous. Once the 40k tv show comes out, it'll grow even more. Obviously just my opinion. Play what you like at the end of the day. <3

Some interesting points, but I do disagree with the points for the number of factions. So with 4 factions vs 28, I'd say even if 28 is too many, it's still better than only having 4. Just my opinion, though.

I know it’s completely subjective, but I’ve been loving some of the Disney era books. I think the aftermath trilogy is incredible, and lost stars might be my favorite Star Wars book

Legion as a game is so much better, along with being a bit cheaper.

Speaking as someone who entered 40k and the hobby in 10th, I've looked into the really major past and present events without even daring to get any deeper, only because I know that the story is just a backdrop for the tabletop, which is evident through its repetitive nature in many cases. But don't get me wrong, I dig the absurdity of the 40K Universe!

Just an idea, there are some Mods that can be done to resin printed that allow proper ventilation so the allergic reaction could be mitigated. I really dont like the smell and bothers my asthma but with it being ventilated better it helps alot.

I made this decision and went with 40k. The problem here is there is simply not enough legion players to get consistent games near me. But I also disagree with some of your rankings, the existence of combat patrol being a single box that means you can play a pretty solid game mode, making the game pretty easy to learn. I will say, I am necrons, so my opinion on paining may be skewed as they are notoriously simple to paint.

I’d say personally legion is better because I was born and raised up with Star Wars in general. Legion is still cheaper than 40k 😂😭. Both are fun but when it comes to which one is better, definitely legion🙏🏻🤌🏼

I’d say naboo security give them the police palace guard and a speeder have one of the named guys to lead, also maybe pilots or handmaidens, cis/pirates cadbane with his droid droid commandos assassin droids pirates u can throw bounty hunters in. Also would love a cis flyer like a vulture droid. Imperial army like in andor with the long guns and e11s basically shore troopers and stormtroopers that speeder jeep with the gun on the back riot guys. Ryloth army with freedom fighters those dinosaurs things they ride stuff like that

All great ideas! I would love Jabba and the Gungans especially. I also can't stand Disney's stuff, I avoid buying anything from their new canon. Legion is the only thing left I care about because it lets me play out my own stories. As such, I put together a Shadows of the Empire themed army to show my love for the EU.

I need something more serious WarHammer 40k nails that. When I think Star Wars I cant help but feel a physical sense of rejection like cringe that makes you turn off your TV when you see something you cant handle. I can see Star Wars being better suited for younger groups but ultimately its never grabbed my attention and I dont really appreciate any of the characters personally the story is not what I prefer I will admit I havent watched any recent stuff but Ive seen advertising clips but because disney owns it I dont see that doing it any favors especially on social media. Same could be said for WH40k these days with all the confused arbitrary garbage infecting every series like a flesh eating bacteria but even on a table top I dont like Star Wars designs for machines mechs or soldiers etc I 3d print all my 40k stuff now so I have dragon themed space marine soldiers tanks mechs etc so my hobby has only been getting richer for the past 5 years while new games will have players catering to army color rulings for inclusion and the like so WH40k is in a spot where its honestly had the most freedom because 3d printing. If Star Wars doesn't have color restrictions for inclusion and other ridiculous rules as such I guess it boils down to what apperance you can appreciate more both stories are going down the drain from my stand point but Ive never let story be my anchor in anything I appreciate mostly because people just genuinely suck at writing a good story for anyone with a decent attention span and i feel universal about that.

I LOVE throwing comms jammer on these guys then using the raiding party leader so they all get demoralize. Six of these guys disrupting CIS order chains is comedy gold

Great video. Homebrew cards would be great. Maybe a rancor for jabbas battle force. I think it would lean more into the aliens and less into generic armored trooper, like range troopers. Maybe some noghri or trandoshan for empire

I swear the wording in these cards are not very beginner friendly, me and a friend were taking it as you can move have a free attack then attack again as your "2nd" action 😅 luckily we didn't get too far before someone corrected us, but there's so many cards worded very oddly

the best part is that they already price them higher than they should
