Great review i recently purchased the SN0017G v3 yes VERY LATE to this piece purely cuz i have to 1953s but now in early 2025 the SN0017G v3 did work out cheaper than THE WD5512 here in the UK so opted for the SN.. SN0017G WD5512 & SD1953 have got to be the top 3 subbie homages to get....

Rolex doesn’t carry the value for the price… Remember Rolex is a poor man’s expensive watch not a wealthy persons expensive watch… Having said that Rolex does make a nice wrist watch. But…… Steel dive wins the price per value all day…..

Snagged one for $60 from watchdives open box sale - superb little watch, and to mind even better looking than the IWC with the PVD case. Black buckle and black date window would make this top tier for very little money.

If I ever sold my Speedy, this is the watch I'd buy, albeit with a 6.5" wrist, I think I might struggle? Proper heritage as opposed to some crap non-starter Swatch for not miles off the same money. Proud to say that I've met Commander Scott on a number of occasions. He is for sure a great and fascinating fellow. A real example of 'The Right Stuff!'

Pagani Design is definitely my brand. I own several of their watches. The automatic movement is very, very accurate and the quality is superb. I just ordered this exact Batman GMT with the jubilee bracelet. Looking forward to sporting it.

It's the tacky lion head on the back that puts me off all their watches, it's tacky doesn't suit the overall design that's why I went for sugess watches instead, merkur if you read this get of the lion head the brand doesn't need it.

I have one because of the beautiful turquoise hour hand and the contrasting black dial with white markers. I do think that the bezel should have matched the hour hand, though in the green section.

On a rubber strap this Heimdallr is fantastic. (I didn't get on with the provided bracelet, just didn't fit me.) The case finish is beautiful, and the shark logo is supercool.

Absolutely agree. Just diving into the world of watches - and my wallet is hiding under the bed.... but i observe also that Bulova has alot to offer for the price! Very much agree with your observations. Been looking at the Lunar Pilot but at 43.5mm i'm afraid it's too big for my 16.3 inch wrist. Tho i just now saw an amazing Accutron , not he spaceview but model 63A101 with open heart at top, black dial with "sunrays" lines, roman numbers, and classical clean steel bezel around. Looked very cool for the price of 22295 norwegian krones ( 3157.- AUD) Not a bad price for a watch with that look and quality in my opinion. My wallet is still hiding under the bed tho.... update: just saw 63A103 with steel bracelet for half the price at same shop - same watch and specs....strange...

I use to own the Proxima Scuba 🤿 Master 300 homage watch . Now I own the Seiko SLA047J1 Marine Master 300 . Nothing beats the real thing 👍🏻

Watchdives have really knocked it up a gear this year, releasing some excellent watches at such great price points. Definitely becoming the guys to beat at the super affordable price point, especially with the new logo. Excellent video, was hoping we'd get a year end round up though.

Only thing I don’t like on this watch when I got one was the case back is too thick bulges out too much Other than that it’s perfect

Its the precisionist movement that draws me to Bulova. I have a lunar pilot and the jet star with the burgundy dial. Love them both.

For anyone interested, you can order this watch from their own website without any logos on the dial. In fact you won’t got logos or text on the crown, watch back or clasp either! I have just received mine logo free and it’s so much nicer IMO

The price of the mass produced item is 1% of the rolex, servicing will also be cheaper even if you have to swap the movement. From "across the table" no one will see the differenece and I use a watch daily, for all activilties, including working on my car or DIY jobs in the house. Wearing the Rolex once the depretiation is so much that you can buy 10 steeldive for it, not even considering how I treat it. So this is a no brainer if you ask me. The Steeldive "GMT" is next on my list, I have a "submariner" type pagani, timekeeping is very accurate. So no complaints

There is no made in japan printed on dial and in the back. Where is that made from?

I was never keen on that off white colour of the cases but then i saw there was an all grey version and prompty bought one for less than £100. I like it very much, something a bit different for my collection. The rubber strap is excellent and my only complaint is the lack of a 2nd keeper which will be rectified very soon.

If only the Steeldive has Lume on the bezel 😢
