So overly complicated for no reason, in Maya there's a 'softness' slider on all lights.

Your method of creating a RGB shader seems bit too complicated. Here is a simple way to do the same by Lane wallace. I hope this will help to many. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4msh3x3lL52Z68

Super work. Funny enough, I know the man in this film very well. I used to drive underground trains in London and I saw him many times. Very sad, but very true!

Useful tut, but not solving my exact problem I faced and why I was searching some explanations on KZbin. I noticed that my textures (in Substance) became rounded on corners (near seams) when I turned on Subdivision modifier and exported the model from Blender to Substance. But I found how to fix it. That was simple - Subdivision modifier - Advanced tab - UV Smooth - Keep Corners. Done. Maybe it could be useful for someone)

I'm trying to follow along with this, but your voice is staticky and (despite my volume being turned up high) can BARELY be heard. You should REALLY record a voice over for this video so that can get fixed. Subtitles are also pretty haggard because it can't get around the static to get the words right.

That's very true! That those little steps every day make a big effect in the end! It's encouraging to hear you say it, because it reminds me of the things that I want to do. And it applies to everything in our lives, not just Art, 3D Animation, and things like that, but everything in our lives, both good and bad. A little bit of progress goes a long way (when you keep exercising it).

Try changing your render engine to cycles instead of eevee. You can do this by clicking on the Button that looks like a radio on the tool bar and swapping from eevee to cycles. hope this helps!
