Honestly? I’m enjoying this game. Though, there are many issues that I have found. The NPCs have 0 personality. Once I married my spouse of choice, I realised nothing changed. Just the same dialogue options as before, no new interactions like hugging them, and they don’t even come inside your house! They just sadly stand on your farm in the rain. I was really disappointed, since my spouse of choice had such an interesting story, but I only got the 5 date cutscenes to learn that. I think this could be fixed by having special cutscenes for gaining more hearts after marriage and adding a special interaction and dialogue after marriage. Maybe even being able to still take them on dates? Though, I understand how complex that would be to add considering there are many marriage candidates there are in the game. I also dislike the festivals. All they are is some extra side quests related to the festival’s theme and then on the actual day, all the NPCs standing the same building, with one selling seasonal items. I was like “really?” when I first saw this because I was expecting at least a cutscene, but we got nothing. Honestly, it would increase my enjoyment of this game so much more if they made the festivals feel more like festivals. Decorations, costumes, celebrations. Heck, we could combine two things together and let you take your spouse on a date to the festivals! Overall, I’d give this game a 6/10. The severe pitfall of the social interactions with NPCs really made not enjoy this game as much. Festivals seem lifeless and more like an unenthusiastic family get together where nobody actually wants to be there. It is an enjoyable game, but I would most likely never recommend it until the NPCs are made more lifelike. All the other elements I’ve enjoyed, such as not having to carry around 7 different tools that take up half your inventory and decoration of your houses.

great interview and amazing job at covering all the aspects of faefarm! i definitely have to say that i love the infinite storage you have inside your shed, it makes me very happy as in games i like to stock up and save as much things as possible. i’m a weirdo too because of it, lol. but otherwise! i find that as much as i love animal crossing or disney’s dreamlight valley, faefarm just has so many interesting and unique aesthetics and parts to it that i find myself lacking to see in other commonly known switch games. i see a lot of gamers in the “cosy” community too on instagram or tiktok just absolutely saying that faefarm wasn’t worth it, some say it’s glitchy and just leave bad reviews when it’s not a bad game in general. ofc it’s very important to remember opinions are different for each game and also that some people’s setups for gaming may make things glitchy or slow but for me, dreamlight valley glitched so much and would close out every hour on its own which unsaved all my progress. so i wasn’t personally happy with that. but faefarm i’ve been really switching to more as i’m almost done with terraforming and decorating my acnh island so, this game i’ll be coming back to as i abandoned it a bit back in september of 2023 when it came out.

I played the demo and thought it was pretty fun! I had already pre-ordered it before the demo came out, but I still enjoyed getting to try it out ahead of time anyway. The only issue I had was I technically didn't finish the Swordfighter play in the proper way cause I couldn't get past the big knight boss. I did figure out that attacking from the back was probably part of it, but it always turned around so fast, and with the limited fighting space its attacks are quite hard to avoid. I ended up eventually taking the option to spend all my coins to auto-finish the level. 😢

I'll confess, I got caught up in it too, but in hindsight... why did we think there were going to be Unova remakes? Save for Kanto remakes (since Gen 1 is always special), Pokémon remakes have always been in the generation double the original. Heart Gold and Soul Silver came out in Gen 4, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire came out in Gen 6, and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl came out in Gen 8. It's the most reliable pattern in the franchise, and if it holds, we won't see Unova remakes until Gen 10 is underway.

If you like rpgs have you tried Triangle Strategy? In my opinion it's the best game on switch. Even though I cant play it. But I have now watched multiple full playthroughs of it. The story is phenomenal and you really feel connected to the characters and the story

My game of the year for non cozy game ended up being my personal favourite game on the switch. Pikmin 4. I had never played a pikmin game before and I have loved pikmin 4 so much

I fought hard for and finally got a refund for the $100 I paid for the ultimate edition of dreamlight valley on Nintendo switch. They were refusing to refund it even though I haven't been able to play it since launch because on the switch it gave me and a lot of other people get horrendous motion sicknes because of how bad it runs. Going to try the apple arcade version instead

Yaaaaay I agree, it truly is an exciting time to be a Pokemon fan. Fingers crossed that whenever the reveal the gameplay, it will be wonderful.

I get what you mean about long segment for the TCG and it’s kind of niche but I think we in the west have to remember as big as pokemon is here it’s even bigger in Japan. The TCG is not so niche there and they are seeing this for the first time too. It’s not just for western audiences
