Alright, let me address the elephant in the room. In this video, I mention Hogwarts Legacy as a game that I enjoyed playing this year, having been a longtime fan of the book series. I am aware of the author's anti-trans views, and do not condone them in any way, shape or form; however, as I mentioned, I believe in separating the art from the artist and still find comfort in this universe and its characters since they were such a huge part of my childhood. That said, I am a content creator, and the purpose of the reviews and tier lists I create is to determine whether a game is good, fun and worth playing regardless of the political views of the original series' author (who was not directly involved with the creation of this game). Whether I enjoyed it or not, it would not be right to omit it from the list simply because I want to make my life easier and avoid difficult conversations or possible hate in the comments. To quote the writers at IGN, who have worded this better than I ever could, I am choosing to address the views of the franchise creator separately from my consideration of the work of the hundreds of game developers and evaluate Hogwarts Legacy as it stands. Everyone is free to consider the ethical implications of playing this game for themselves and decide whether they, as an individual, want to still enjoy the series or abandon it in protest, but please keep your discussion civil in the comments and do not harass players and creators who choose to play this game.

My game of the year for non cozy game ended up being my personal favourite game on the switch. Pikmin 4. I had never played a pikmin game before and I have loved pikmin 4 so much

Ooh, haven't played Pikmin in literally almost two decades! I played the one on the Wii, and the little scene that plays when you leave a Pikmin behind traumatised me so much, I did not touch the series again, lol. I will definitely have to get back into it at some point!

If you like rpgs have you tried Triangle Strategy? In my opinion it's the best game on switch. Even though I cant play it. But I have now watched multiple full playthroughs of it. The story is phenomenal and you really feel connected to the characters and the story

I haven't played it yet, but I bought it digital the last time it was on sale a few months back! It's on my list of games I absolutely want to play in 2024.

I have yet to get past finding my common room in Hogwarts Legacy 😂 But I have a 4 year old grandson I have to keep up with so thats my excuse. Lol. So glad to have this list of games to give me more gaming options... Pokemon Violet and Monster Hunter Rise were some of my favorites.

My mum is in the same situation - she has only gotten to the common room, and has just been looking around and not progressing any quests since! 😂 I'm happy my list gave you some gaming ideas! Never played MH myself outside of the Stories spin-offs on 3DS and Switch, but I definitely need to give it a go soon (and rope my husband into it)! And I also loved Pokemon Violet's gameplay, although the performance issues were so bad at times that I got motion-sick and had to stop playing! I really hope the next games in the series run better...

This is really making me want to give Baldurs Gate and Genshin Impact a chance! I just have so many games to catch up on already 😅

Oooooh, I absolutely recommend both! Baldur's Gate 3 is so immersive and fun, in one file I'm just traipsing around as a happy-go-lucky Bard with the same number of brain cells as a Golden Retriever, while in the other I'm a very morally grey assassin, and I'm having a blast in both! And Genshin is a massive comfort game for me, it's just so bright and lovely - and the music is amazing! They've also massively improved the story as it goes on, so it now feels like watching a really good anime! But yeah, both of them will monopolize your gaming time like you wouldn't believe!🤣

Yeah, I'm not quite an OG player - I'm a '95 kid whose first Nintendo console was a DS in '05, so I only got into Pokemon games in Gen 3. :)

separating the art from the artist doesn’t mean still putting money in their pocket. it means being able to digest art without bias bc of the artist. she uses that money to harass trans people. ❤

I got the game as a birthday gift from a friend who knows that I enjoy gaming and the Harry Potter books, so I guess none of my money entered her pockets in this case. But I still do not judge or shame those who bought the game brand-new or even double-dipped on multiple platforms, because at the end of the day, I don't expect the vast majority of people to take into consideration the political ideologies of everyone involved with the making of a product before making a purchase - that's just an unrealistic expectation. ❤

People need a life if they're judging people for playing a freaking video game
