Before I clicked on the video I hesitated a bit, because I feared it would be your typical "X things on a list"-video, but with your style and honesty it was good one as always :) Regarding your question: Red hair totally makes someone attractive to me :D And good-looking, long hair in general. But also common interests as I'm playing a lot of board games and am always looking for other players ;) Have a great weekend!

Great video as often. I have an overweight issue and I managed it few years ago and 2020 happened (yes, this but the real kick starter was few weeks before the world closure). I wasn't doing much in particular and now, I'm stuck with 15 extra kg. I would not date myself today. My wife is a hero. Last year, I was able to lost 10kg before my travel to the Netherlands, weird.

Great video, I had the underweight “problem” as well when I was a child, but over the last few years I’ve started to do more intensive sports and eating a bit more than I’m used to. This really made me grow more muscle, and now I feel way more confident and am not that long skinny broomstick anymore. So regular exercise really is important, but it doesn’t have to be the gym, I never go there and just go bouldering 2/3 times a week, it gets the same results but it makes it way more fun for me. Anyways, great video and keep making more.

Short personal history: I was adopted at one month of age. My adoptive father was Dutch but was born here in Canada. His parents were born in Amsterdam. Hint: my family surname has something to do with wooden shoes... I've been to the Netherlands once, back in 1984 when I was 21. I absolutely completely fell in love with it. Life got in the way and I've never made it back. That is, until the end of November this year when my wife and I will be spending two weeks there. We are basing ourselves in Amsterdam and will make day trips to other towns and cities. The Netherlands is a very special country and I'm so excited to be going back!

25 for me was 35 years ago. How the hell did that happen? It's like I blinked and life sped by. In so many ways I still feel like a young man even though I'm not. But, sometimes my body betrays me. I can't do things as robustly as I once did and that's ok, even though sometimes it feels like it isn't. And sometimes I get a little shock when I look at myself in the mirror. How I perceive myself in my mind is in conflict with the physical reflection I see in that mirror. Surely I should be seeing a much younger face! Life goes by really fucking fast man. To the best of your ability do the things you want to do, things you're passionate about, things that bring you joy. And keep doing them the best you can for as long as you can. Life is a beautiful thing. The older I get the more I come to understand that old cliche that says, "youth is wasted on the young." You just have to get older to really feel and understand what that means. And your grandmother is right. Getting old beats the hell out of the alternative!

I did the same thing you did, just quit without a plan. The sky did not fall on my head, life went on, and it all worked out. I retired at 55 and life is great. Sometimes taking a huge risk is a really great idea. Of course there's always the other side to that coin but nothing ventured nothing gained. We grow and learn as individuals by taking calculated risks whether they work out in the end or not. Great topic for a video, I enjoyed it very much!

When you are in Amersfoort and you want to get some fried snacks, FEBO is okay, but Van Gogh is absolutely great. They cherish craftsmanship in a very professional contemporary manner. Almost all the snacks are locally produced or prepared at the spot. By the way, I don't work there.

Well, I'd call that excursion a complete success. There's a book called Feel the Fear and do it Anyway, written by a PhD called Susan Jeffers. It's a great book and well worth having a look at. You felt the fear and did it anyway. You got lost, got found ie. your hotel, you saw and felt some things and made it back home safe and sound. And no doubt you learned about yourself. I wonder what the next solo trip would look like compared to this one? Only one way to find out! 😃

What an interesting topic! It's amazing how technology changes and shapes us as humans. Sometimes it's for the better and sometimes not. Balance in all things! This is pertinent to me. Almost two years ago I started following a fellow photographer over in Europe who started his own YT channel. Like your channel, I stumbled upon it completely by chance, and started watching regularly. I liked this man instantly. He's someone who I feel that I could be friends with in actual life. He comes across as very down to earth, genuine, kind and compassionate. He and I will never meet in person, and that's fine. However, interestingly, we have become Facebook friends and occasionally we will chat about various cameras and lenses, different techniques, beautiful locations etc. Being connected to other people is vital for us humans and now we have the technology to be connected in a new way. It's kinda cool 😎

Whatever else you find along life's path please do not stop telling stories, in whatever form that pleases you. I think you have a true gift. I spent 4 years at university to become a Social Worker. It seemed "right" at the time and I was proud of myself when I graduated. But...I found out that I didn't really want to BE a Social Worker so after some time I spent another 3 years of night school specializing in Brain Injury Rehabilitation. I guess my own gift was the gift of being able to, and wanting to, help other people. When I was a kid I wanted to be an Archeologist. I got a little older and wanted to be a Marine Biologist. Hmmm. Turned out that those sciences were not my strengths at all and for a long time I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Panic sets in because by my late teens I "should" know what I wanted to do. Well, according to my parents and aunts and uncles and the neighbour's dog that is :) Life is a fascinating thing and it goes by so quickly. That's something I could not grasp when I was younger. Make the most of it and do what makes us happy! (within certain moral and legal parameters) of course! 😄😇

That's the thing about life isn't it? (Rhetorical question) We are constantly faced with problems/issues/dilemmas that require us to face them. Some are caused by our own doing and some are caused by others. And many are things that we have absolutely no control over. I think part of the solution is to figure out which is which, which ones do we absolutely have to face and which ones we don't need to fret over or expend physical/emotional energy on. Simple, when you think about it, but never easy. But as you say, as long as we keep trying 💛

Your videos are very enlightening and refreshing. So many YTubers come across as pretentious no-it-alls, the used car salespeople of the internet. Huge turnoff! I see you just being yourself and I really admire that. If we can't be ourselves who can we be? Who are we supposed to be? To hell with the expectations of others. If you don't like something then just move along. I for one will be staying. This is the third video of yours that I've watched and am now going to continue in the sequence that you posted them. Cheers! Mike from Canada

DT 770 Pro! We have the same headphones :) I've never experienced online dating, probably because I'm older, happily married and it didn't exist when I was younger and single. However, I can see its appeal in this day and age. If one can find what they are looking for online then great for them.! We live in a society where we are free to make choices and contemplate our options. That's always a good thing. I'm just kinda glad I don't/won't have to experience that myself. I suppose I met the love of my life the old fashioned way and that's ok too. Love your videos by the way, although this one is only the second I've watched. You seem intelligent, witty, funny and charming and I look forward to watching many more.

Interesting video Lynn, you make some very pertinent points! I graduated from 4 years of university here in Canada in 1990. I walked out of there with a grand total of $452 of debt. Man, times have changed! That same degree would now cost me out of pocket somewhere around $50,000. Educational grants from the government were typical for most students back then. Not any more! Ah well, we all live in our own time depending on when and where we were born, we just have to make the best of it and do what our hearts tell us to do. Everyone's path in life is different but as long as we get to where we want to be it's all good. It doesn't really matter "how." Live life, be a good person and be happy, and for many today, that means f*ck the debt! I really enjoyed your video and have subbed. Thanks! Mike from Canada.

Good challenge. For real there is smartphone addiction (as one part of your challenge). The figures are crazy how often some people check their phone and: they don't realize how often they do it. On a detox they might get agressive not being able to check any smartphone. Did u known you can get poisoned by drinking water. More than 10 liter is poison to your body. So for Dopamine it's the same: Too much or being addicted in a bad way is bad .. doing laundry is not the worst effect LOL. And in my mind it is bad as well doing something without realizing it. Realize there is a real life with real weather (sunshine or rain) .. so every screentime as okay as long you don't forget this 🙂 -- I like your videos as other 643 subscribers do + more viewers which don't subscribe 🌻🌅🌞⛅🌦🌞🌄
