I don't mind an open-ended finish to an evolving story of your life's purpose, I'm just happy you shared this part! A glimpse into another life in strange and wonderful lands. Part of your life's purpose must be storytelling that plot and scenery to others - made me smile which subsequently made me your 332nd subscriber. 😊

When I was around your age, I had the same problem. Growing uncertainty over the path I'd chosen. Growing discomfort over who I was and what I'd become. In those days I was a stereotype nerd, glued to my computer, training to be an electronics engineer specialising in (surprise) designing computer chips. Autistic people probably had a better social life than I did. In the end I decided to turn my life upside down. I dropped everything I was good at (so no, I did not finish that education), and started doing everything I was bad at, everything I was scared of (a bit like the Travel Alone video I just commented on), everything I thought I couldn't do. Things like sports, arts (music and photography in my case), and - the horror! - interacting with other humans! Guess you can just call it "stepping out of your comfort zone", but I chose the Extreme++ version of it. It probably cost me a succesful career, but helped me to grow as a person more than I would ever be able to on that fixed, safe, chosen path. And as I said in that other comment, that growth is exciting to me. Ofcourse I had to face the same expectations from other people. When you stop following that path, people often tell you you're throwing away your future. Well, 20 years after that U-turn I'm still here. I didn't throw away my future, I just, uh, changed it a little... (much 🤣). There's more to life than careers. It's your life, you get to decide what terms like "success" and "happines" mean.

Yes, "success" and "happiness" are subjective terms, shaped by our own values and experiences, rather than societal definitions. By stepping out of your comfort zone is you discover what really makes you happy in life. Thank you so much for sharing your story! ☺

Ahh thank you! That means a lot. I use the Sony ZV-e10. And lenses i use are the sigma 16mm f/1.4 for talking head and sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 for B-Roll. The lenses are almost as expensive as the camera itself but a good lens makes such a difference.

Whatever else you find along life's path please do not stop telling stories, in whatever form that pleases you. I think you have a true gift. I spent 4 years at university to become a Social Worker. It seemed "right" at the time and I was proud of myself when I graduated. But...I found out that I didn't really want to BE a Social Worker so after some time I spent another 3 years of night school specializing in Brain Injury Rehabilitation. I guess my own gift was the gift of being able to, and wanting to, help other people. When I was a kid I wanted to be an Archeologist. I got a little older and wanted to be a Marine Biologist. Hmmm. Turned out that those sciences were not my strengths at all and for a long time I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Panic sets in because by my late teens I "should" know what I wanted to do. Well, according to my parents and aunts and uncles and the neighbour's dog that is :) Life is a fascinating thing and it goes by so quickly. That's something I could not grasp when I was younger. Make the most of it and do what makes us happy! (within certain moral and legal parameters) of course! 😄😇

What if I told you that this open-ended video can actually be thought provoking ? Cause it is, especially for people in a similar situation as yourself and there are many. Sometimes you don't need to provide solutions to problems, but so long as you address a problem and bring people's attention to it it may help them find the solution on their own and maybe, just maybe they will in turn help you find your own solution based on their own experience. Speaking of solution to the problem you face, here's a food for thought: imagine for a moment that you don't need to be passionate about your job. You really don't. It can be something, some sort of activity that you do just to get paid. Usually when people who chase their passion and make it their job, in time they start hating this thing and burn out quickly. I hope you or anyone else reading this will find this useful, best of luck to you and everyone else facing this problem.
