Mine says 5w20? Edit: Just checked my Chiltons manual and it says 2015 and before 5w20, and mine is a 2015. Would you at all recommend going to 5w30 for this truck, or where there some changes made in the engine starting in 2016 that I am unaware of. Thank you. Edit: I saw some other comments about the oil and Im going to run the Amsoil 5w20 I already bought but will probably go ahead and switch over to 5w30 in the future. It

The 7.3 is a joke. When my brother bought his truck he was excited. It was rated for more power and torque than my 8.1 in my 04 chevy. It's a dog. It's gutless. I would t tow with it, because it struggles so much. He says as soon as the truck is paid off he's getting rid of it. That's what I know about the 7.3... my 20 year old truck with an 8.1 outperforms it in every metric other than mpg. They are about the same.

There’s a reason everyone compares everything to a cat. I was a cummins guy until I drove a cat. And I’m not talking about 80k. Doesn’t take much to pull that. Once you get close to 100k on the daily the truth comes out.

Just curious about the outcome of the oil weight change? I have an 09 f-150 5.4 Triton that may have cam phaser issues. Mine only seems to do it when I am in a very low speed after being warmed up. Such as maneuvering around the yard to back up to a trailer, or backing up a trailer slowly. I really don't hear it just sitting idle or coming up to a stop sign. So I am thinking of this 15w-40 oil change with Lucas

Sombody please help me I have a 2008 F150 with bad rattling at idle or slow down speeds. I have put 2,800 in to it trying to fix it with no results! Worst part is the truck only has 56,000 miles on it I have no idea where to go from here. Thank you

Update after watching this video I dumped and entire bottle of sea foam Truck & SUV formula in to my crank case and drove my truck in trailer haul mode “so the over drive was off so the engine would have to work harder” for about 80 miles I set my trip and just went for it. Now don’t do what I did just because of some random KZbin comment but after a year long battle I think it’s fixed. I immediately changed my oil and bumped her up from 5-w20 to 5-w30 and she has never ran better since I’ve owned her. Also a lot of what I assume were built up sludge clumps came out at the very end when I was draining the oil. I’ll let you know if I have any other problems but I don’t daily drive it it’s just used to pull toys

I’ve owned and ran all brands. Personally at the end of the day my money goes to the Taks. They just run. and push like a small dozer. The true pilot controls in the Takeuchi machines cannot be beat. Effortless in comparison to the other brands. No sensitivity adjustments. Just simple.

Egr delete, cooling system filtration, and routine maintenance is what these 6.0s need. Maybe batteries in the FICM over time. Of course the injector o rings, ice, ipr. I'm not against a 6.0.

Everything im reading is saying the engine needs to be re-timed before pump installation. What makes you say it doesnt? Dealership is trying to charge me 10k for this same job
@ColtWRАй бұрын
It's a common rail pump, it supplies fuel to all injectors all the time. The electronic injector solenoid times the injector pulse off the rpm and timing data from cam and crank sensors. This timing is irrelevant for the injection pump

Nice video you guys! Thanks for sharing how you have the trucks set up. Not a whole lot of videos showing guys doing primarily fab work out of service beds. Plenty of service bed videos from mechanics who weld and plenty of welding rig flatbed tours from guys who do pipe work and other mobile heavy fab, but not many of the middle ground between the two. I'm in the process of moving from a tricked out camper shell on a half ton truck to a service bed on a 3/4 ton Dodge and very excited to get it all dialed in.

I think everything you mentioned is pretty spot on. Thinking myself into a 7.3 250 by the minute. It’s gonna be crunch time real soon. I’ve got a 5.4 150 with 325k that I’m waiting to hear back about repair… But any truck newer than mine is so damn expensive these days.

All of these early leaf sprung front end superdutys are rotten away, here in Ohio. 7.3L trucks got body panels from dead gassers and 6.0L trucks. 6.4L gave even more sheet metal to save them. The 6.2/6.7L are out lasting their thin skin and the oldies are sent to the crushers.

Very underpowered and unreliable engines, here in Mexico were widely used in 10 whelers an buses, people realy like them during 30 years most of the drivers learned to drive whit them. It's little brother v378 (155 hp) was better in therms of reliability , it also was very popular here until dealers started using 855 cu 250 hp n/a and the 290 hp turbo cummins. Nice truck by the wey!!!
