I moved here four months ago from literally the middle of nowhere in central Pennsylvania. It was the best decision I have ever made. For people who are saying there is not enough for younger people to do clearly haven't looked hard enough (I'm 25). In four months I haven't had the need to leave the city limits because of how much there is to do here. Where in Pennsylvania you'd have to drive an upwards of 2 hours to do anything fun. I've wanted to move to Texas for a while but I didn't want to go anywhere terribly populated like Dallas or Houston. Lubbock is a perfect in between for me and my husband, we both love it here and don't plan on leaving for a long time.

First whou would move to the most dangeroust town of its size. Secondly if you want to live around lubbock, just wait and that land will blow right to you. Thirdly taxes at lubbock are as outrageous as places that have water, trees and lakes.😅

I guess since you’re a realtor and went to Tech you have to convince people that moving to Lubbock is a good deal but it’s a boring bland ugly town in the middle of nowhere. I’d much prefer Tyler EAST TEXAS to the Panhandle.

Moved to Lubbock from California a decade ago, but from DFW before that. Think Lubbock has the best weather in Texas. The dry heat is TONS better than the heat in Austin, Houston, or Dallas. Also nice to get snow sometimes in the winter. Dust hasn't been a big deal. Amazing perk: no traffic! Biggest gripes: loose dog problem, hail, property crime, and lack of city-level innovation/vision.

3:18 there is a lot of opportunity in the community theatre scene. Lubbock Community Theatre, CATS playhouse, Moonlight Musicals, Hollingsworth Hall. First Friday Art Trail is an event every first Friday of the month and is always beautiful! And we have two nerdy conventions and an arts festival. This theatre kid is happy most of the time.

El Paso deserves more credit. Sad it was completely overlooked. Also, Lubbock isn’t southern. Southern stops around DFW. In fact, alligator habitat stops outside of Tarrant County. Even nature says nope, not leaving the south.
