This song is what "intimacy" sounds like when expressed through music. The song is the most profound expression on intimacy... the most crucial ingredient to romantic love. Sharing an emotional space exclusive to only one other person in the world.

I didn’t know that Eugene record made this song for his deceased mother. My mother passed away about four months ago, and I was her only child. My grandmother passed away about eight years ago. Those two women who raised me are gone, there’s no one else in this world who loved me like they did and sacrifice for me like they did.

I saw the great Chi-Lites at the fabulous forum in Los Angeles in the mid-70s I think it was a what stacks concert. When they sang coldest days of my life part 1 and 2 they sat in chairs and got very close so they can hear each other and they could get those fabulous harmonies correctly. The effect was amazing it was like seeing a choral/gospel performance. I thank the Lord everyday for this spectacular experience The Chi-Lites gave me. It has obviously stayed with me all these years. Thank you Chi-Lites

I'm 15 year old boy and listening to this song while on the road with my dad thinking and talking about my dreams in the future really helped me to really understand what I want to be and improve people's lives the future. One day I'll come back to this comment and smile back at it.
