Never ever ever ever use your ball hitch to pull anyone out Mr. That is dangerous and deadly. You said it in your video HAVING THE RIGHT TOOLS TO DO THE JOB RIGHT. Get yourself a shackle hitch receiver if you plan on towing or pulling anyone out of sand, mud, snow whatever it is. Always practice safety otherwise you could get sued if you hurt or kill someone using your ball hitch as a recovery tool. Those ball hitch aren’t meant for pulling anyone out. Remember that.

I stand by alot of stuff from harbor freight, but for the tape Gorilla tape is amazing compared to HF tape, and Super 33+ is the only electrical tape I would trust for actual electrical work, for a single day patch to get home the HF is good enough. I know it is weird to talk about the tape specifically, but I have been in situations where it mattered.

You may want to search some videos before hooking up to a tow ball to pull someone out. Tow balls do not handle the shock load very well. It can work for a static pull if there is no other option.

This conversion works really good for me, I try to always buy CCi mini mag high velocity not standard velocity and it runs flawlessly, I have runs other brands that work pretty good, but CCI you know is going work. Here is a link to one of the matches I shoot every month that I use an AR with the conversion in it, I use M&P15-22 mags with the shim you clip on the front of magwell to take away some of the sloppiness of the mag when its inserted. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHi4i6yEqp2nipYsi=6jfEAxXuzUCzZwQX

I own the original all black CMMG Bravo and the version you have (in the right hand version) and both of them have worked flawlessly in every AR15 I own. I can honestly say that other than the occasional hard primer strike (not the CMMG Bravos fault) I've never had a problem. Are you running it dry? I always oil my conversions before using them. There has to be something wrong with your Bravo because if they weren't good there would be a lot more people complaining about their reliability.

Thank you for taking the time to test this Austin! Have you tried reaching out to our Customer Service team with your concerns? These aren't typical results that we see with our .22lr kits. We also know that the S&W magazine typically needs an adapter to run properly with our kits as they are designed a bit differently. But if you haven't, please contact our CS team as that would be the easiest way to have a discourse and help you resolve these issues.

@roundrock632 ай бұрын
Would that be considered a quick release or just removable mount?
@tomliemohn6242 ай бұрын
I think given your scenario, you can't move, you don't end up paying for it, I think it's worth it. But what you are doing right, is apprenticing and reading. A good tradesman never stops learning. Me personally, I own a shop and have been doing this for 25 years. I did sign up for an online gunsmithing class once, but the education they offered was pretty bad. I already had been to college twice, once for machining and the machining is what makes me able to pay my bills. Frankly I would recommend going to a local trade school/community college and studying machining, welding, business, legal, woodworking, mechanical engineering. Any of those courses, or a concentration in one, will better prepare you for a job/career as a gunsmith than a strictly online gunsmithing school.
@ffryan2 ай бұрын
The better quality mount and rings you buy, the less you'll have to lap. If you're going to lap more than once, it makes sense to buy a kit as you're going to spend more on a gunsmith to have it done multiple times.
@scottbenton58802 ай бұрын
The way to do this is to buy a sight pusher that doesn't have the pusher blade enclosed like the one in the video. Mine has a pusher blade in the shape of a cross that can be rotated and locked down in 4 positions (wide straight, wide angled, thin straight, or thin angled), but the pusher blade sits out front of the sight pusher frame. Then, I tighten it as much as I can by hand, then hit the side of the pusher blade with a small hammer. A couple of firm hits and the sight will move, even if slightly. Tighten the pusher blade again and hit the blade with a hammer a couple of times. It may take 10 times doing this, but this will get sights out without damage. I've done Springfield, S&W M&P, Canik, Ruger, and some others that I was told were impossible to remove without damage. When installing sights, if the sight doesn't slide into the dovetail at least 1/3 of the way (I prefer almost halfway in) you need to remove material from the bottom of the sight. Due to the trapezoidal shape of the dovetail, taking material off the bottom will slowly remove width, as well. Remember, these sights are designed to be adjusted manually by tapping them with a punch or a few twists of a sight pusher. If you are barely able to get the sights into the dovetail, you won't be able to move them the tiny fractions of an inch necessary to adjust them accurately.

The best thing if you can is to go work for a licensed gun shop that not only sells firearms but does onsite repairs. You'll be getting paid to learn from A-Z such as how to not only trouble shoot firearms, repair them but to most importantly deal with customers
@rickh93063 ай бұрын
One thing you should learn about gunsmithing is finesse is much better than brute force. Soak the old sights in Kroil for a day or two then heat up the slide slightly with a heat gun and then use a good sight pusher like an MGW unit. When installing the new sights fit them to the dovetails by sanding or filing the bottom of the sight. I try to get 1/4 to 1/3 of the new sight to slide in by hand and then use a pusher to finish the job. I would be surprised if night sights would survive an install the way you did it. There is great You Tube video by Dawson Sights on installing sights. You would do well to watch it.

I will say that you are right, I have just never had that much of a problem when installing modern sights.
