Those men are Corpsmen, United States Navy Hospital Corpsmen. They are not medics. They are as close to being a Marine that one could get having not earning the title. We, Marines take care of our Corpsmen. If a Marine has an un-opened beer and Docs hands are empty we put a beer in at least one hand. Take good care of Doc, you might need him someday. Semper-Fi Doc.

Thanks as always, Harry. I was very fortunate to grow up around men like Paul Windrow and the others. His son John was a great talent, and I was lucky to have known him.

Terrific video Nixon had to take the banks off the gold standard to pay for the Vietnam war. Once they let the genie out of the bottle that was it! Massive debt creates massive inflation: an invisible tax

Col John Swaren and Jim Hooper interviewed me by phone and e-mail for this book ( A Hundred Feet Over Hell). Other guys were interviewed also from the Fifth Division and archives. Another book was up graded to the pilots in the cockpit which more information was added.

The Catkillers pilots helped us at Kinh Mon Battle or called Operation Rich.. A Lt Rich was killed a month earlier in September when we were sent to the Ho Chi Min trail on an ambush or observing any NVA movement. Three NVA walked in on us and shooting ensued and Lt Rich was killed. This is how Operation Rich got its name dedicated to him in September.

Something erased my comment. At DaNang we had C-130 Spectors with 20mm and and a 105 howitzers, C-119’s with 4 20mm Gatling guns, an also Spooky’s with 4 762 Gatling guns. I was there in 1970 a weapons mech and 5 years later I joined the Army an flew Huey’s for 10 years and got checked out in the U8F and the C12D.

Great video and pictures, I served two tours, 67 and 69, second tour was cut short with Nixon's first troup pull out, not that I'm complaining. Never had a video camera but I have a lot of Instamatic pictures. Thanks for posting. Lot of memories, think about VN every day.
