Family, War, and Remembrance

On Tuesday evening, May 14, 2024, I spoke to the Tarheel Central Chapter, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) at Salem Glen Country Club, Clemmons, North Carolina. Titled "Family, War, and Remembrance," the presentation began with a brief overview of my 2023 biography of Marine 1st Lt. Norman Lane (book.normanlanejrmemorialproj...) and other current projects supported by the Norman Lane Jr. Memorial Project. The talk then focused on a story from Mother's Day, May 14, 1944, and my uncle, T/4 Robert Claiborne, C Company, 760th Tank Battalion.
