This is a great little stove set up. I really like it. I actually have a webber q stove that i thought was the best you could get BUT it takes up a lot of storage room and is too big to fir under the seat and doesn't really fit into the overhead compartment with all my other gear. I took it out and brought this little double burner stove with us a few holidays back and actually found it better in so many ways. The biggest advantage is that its smaller and packs away into a nice little carrying case. Yes it does come with everything you see the single removable hotplate as well as the caserole dish and glass lid. It runs off the little butane cyclinders that aren't bulky like the LPG cyclinder you need for the webber. I take off the hotplate and cook bacon and eggs in a saucepan for breaky and have also cooked a lot of different dishes in the caserole dish. To be fair the webber probably does do a better bbq but in saying that I`m not a huge steak eater these days and the new cooker seems to suit me better. I never thought I`d want to sell my little webber but I really cant see myself going back that way. The new double stove was about a third of the price too. I think we got it at Bunnings.

@@TropicalZooms many thanks. It’s definitely a winner for the limited space you have and fits perfectly on the outboard fold out ledge. Just on the internal space bit, it seems light on for storage space. How do you and other RM20.5 users optimise internal space for clothes, food, and other stuff? Do you bring your bikes inside during the night, even if they are locked up on the outside bike racks?
@TropicalZooms
@TropicalZooms 7 күн бұрын
@@Camh1968 Morning mate. As far as internal space and clothes go I’ve always been a bit of a minimalist. I fit everything I need in the lower cupboard opposite the fridge. My wife on the other hand uses the cupboard above that as well as the one above the fridge. As far as the rest of the van goes I always say we can fit everything you need but not necessarily everything you want. The bikes I always leave on the bike rack. I cover them with a bike cover but also bought a 2 metre length of high tensile steel chain that I also wrap around the frames and padlock to the tow bar so they’ll be extreme difficult to pinch. We’ve had the van 3 years now and very happy with it. The sacrifice in size is more than made up in convenience as I love the fact that I can easily park in most areas, at beaches, boat ramps and lots of regular car parks. I never ever feel like it’s two small. We even have inflatable paddle boards stored in the overhead Luton so I can still go play in the water. 😃👍

@@TropicalZooms hi mate. Many thanks. Yes, storage of items will definitely need to be creative. Do you think a full bull bar is needed on these RM20.5s if doing long distances? Would a nudge bar be ok for mounting Radio antennas? Will you be installing any bar on your front going forward?
@TropicalZooms
@TropicalZooms 6 күн бұрын
@@Camh1968 I’m actually thinking about a nudge bar or a bull bar. A lot of people have told me not to worry if I’m only driving through the daylight hours bug after accidentally hitting a possum in my car a few months back I’m a bit paranoid. I’m thinking about an alloy bull bar to keep the weight down, as others have told me if I go a big heavy steel bull bar I’ll have to upgrade the front shocks which would double the price. I think an alloy bull bar would cost around $4000 installed. I think a nudge bar would be about $1500.

Hi. I understand this model comes with a 3-way fridge installed as a standard option. Can you confirm how a 3 way fridge differs to a normal compressor fridge? Can a compressor fridge be installed in this MH as an option from new build?
@TropicalZooms
@TropicalZooms 10 күн бұрын
@@Camh1968 Hello. This Motorhome comes standard with a 3 way fridge which runs on battery when driving, gas when off power and 240v electricity when connected to power. One main advantage with a 3 way fridge is that they run silent. You can opt to upgrade to a compressor fridge but also keep in mind that you’ll also have to upgrade your battery pack as well as solar and maybe even dc to dc charger. As the compressor fridge runs on 12 volt power when driving and off grid. They do however run from 240v when on power. 😃👍

@TropicalZooms 10 күн бұрын
@@Camh1968 Yes. It’s a nice big 170 litre fridge. Runs well on gas and electricity. We mostly stay at van parks with power but have done a few weekends without power. I think you’d get about 2 to 3 weeks away running on gas for the fridge. I Spose that’s the only hassle if you’re constantly travelling off grid, we also cook on gas too. As I mentioned earlier setting up the power and panels for a compressor fridge would be expensive too. In saying that, I don’t think I’d ever worry about changing as my 3 way does the job for us. 😃👍

Does Jayco have a consise option list available at the very start of order process? @@Camh1968 Hi Cameron The RM20.5 is front wheel drive. My 21 model has a 100 litre water tank and a 50 litre grey water tank which is 150 litres and 150 kgs when full. From memory the total load is around 900 kgs but I’ll check that and get back to you. Yes there is a general list of inclusions but you can select extras which include tow bar, nudge bar, lithium batteries, extra solar panels, diesel heaters and 12 volt fans amongst others. I find that the 2.3 litre diesel climbs quite well up hills. I’ve found myself overtaking most cars towing vans when hill climbing. I haven’t done a lot of tight tight windy hills but the small amount that I have fond I’ve not felt the engine inadequate. Overall I’ve got no regrets & really love this size Motorhome as it’s big enough to live in yet small enough to park at beaches, harbours and in the street when day tripping.

Yeh. I think our main problem was the closing of most kitchens from about 3pm to 8pm. We wouldn’t get to a lot of places until 3ish and then be asleep by 8pm after all the walking. Lucky we had a good breaky most days. Also bought snacks along the way which was what we ended up having for dinner. Still a great adventure even though we struggled with the food. Debbie. 😃👍

can you block the sun from the front cabin when in bed?

Yes. We were given block out shades that attaches to the front windscreen and side windows with suction cups. Blackens the cabin area really well. 😃

Hi Dennis. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying your Camino adventures. Those 28 km days must have been tough? Not to mention the rain at times. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi Mark. Thanks so much for tuning in and the kind words. I took a lot more footage than I recall. I think it’ll end up being a five part collection. Looking forward to some Motorhome trips again too. 😃👍

@@TropicalZooms Great, I'll look forward to the other episodes. We've just come back from Kingscliff and Broken Head. I'll have new drone footage etc going up later this week with more to follow. It's a great time to be out whale spotting.
