Normally, they download over the internet. The sprite server is currently down until verison 6.3 is released. The current download already contains ALL sprites so you don't need to worry about sprites

Wouldn't it just be way faster and easier to use the Steam Deck's integrated version of Proton? After you extract the game files, just open the steam app > then click "Add a Game" at the bottom left > add a Non-Steam game > Browse > navigate to the game's .exe > click add selected program > right click the game in your library (should now appear at the bottom) > properties > compatibility > then check "Force the use of a specific SteamPlay compatibility tool" No need to download any software other than the game itself and everything is integrated into your steam library. Plus iirc this version of Proton is made specifically for the Steam Deck.

Thank you! Very obvious solution if you know it exists. I had a problem where q4wine was opening an extra window which needed clicking through and using proton 9.whatever just made it work immediately.

You sure you extracted it? It will only find folders, not zip files

I followed it step by step and it says "plugin error: a plugin called 'carmaniacs speech bubbles' already exist." I don't know if I did something wrong have you seen anyone else have this problem and how do I fix it

I would suggest uninstalling RPG Maker and Joiplay and reinstalling them. The plugins might have installed incorrectly. If that doesn't work, extraction of the files might have messed up. Android isn't the best at extracting large zips.

I'm a bit paranoid about messing shit up, so would all the instructions in this video work if a had an outdated version of the game and I'm just updating? or is this guide only about how to download the newest patch?

The sprite server for the game is down. Unless you had ALL sprites downloaded prior, you will get issues with sprites not appearing unless you delete your game folder and redownload using the files from this video. This won't delete your save, it will carry over

Have been trying to download this for two days - the mediafire files wont finish downloading, a question mark appears then begins to redownload again to just do the same thing until it crashes, i've tried multiple browsers and my download speed is pretty good pls help (also am following the guide with the correct link) oh and it happened on two separate devices...

Then that just means your internet is not strong enough and keeps timing out. The download link is up to date and working.

Installed today, the game runs really well even with Proton 9.0-3, GE Proton is not needed. Runs on an SD card as well, stutters are a bit heavy though, doesn't seem to be CPU or GPU bound as well because both usage are extremely low.

That means your phone is not compatible with Joiplay to allow the game to work

Right click the zip, select Open With, select WinRar. On the top left it will say Extract To then click OK

Every person that hasn't had this work is because you did not follow the steps carefully. All you have to do is download the zip we provide, extract, and play. Don't mix it with existing files, don't add anything to the files, and only open the game from the new game folder. Not any existing shortcuts you might have

I have a problem. When encountering a wild pokemon and choosing bag, the game crashes with the pop up. Script '004_Validation.rb' line 18: SystemStackError occurred. stack level too deep.

Thanks for making this so clear. It really helped when I installed it a few months ago. One question though. I used your file to set everything up. Where would I find the save file if I wanted to save that but uninstall the game now that I beat it?

If you remove the game from your steam library, it will delete your save file. It is pretty hard to find the save though since it isn't the same path for everyone.
