Nice to know Swaim is also a Dimension 20 homie~ It'd be rad if they had him on one of these years

Thank you Swaim for doing this whole series. My wife and I had a miscarriage between our 2 and 3 children. And it was being alienating as a man, I felt like I needed to be strong for my wife but couldn't really speak with anyone else about it. I'm relieved to know that this has happened with other people and did damage their relationship. Not that mine was, but there was hardship in the aftermath. Any way congrats again on your child and I hope everything goes smoothly during the delivery.

"What if i do this thing and what i am goes away?" is one of the truest things I've ever heard another person say. It has kept me from therapy for years (that and you know, no money) but maybe this meditation lark might be something. I'm older than you both, but perhaps its never too late to find a bit of peace

As far as the change in children's entertainment and how rules and plot mattered, likely can attributed to Nickelodeon. That network is often credited for treating it's viewership like they posses intelligence. Sure it was a network designed to prop-up advertising for toys and kid-focused products, but they really did have smarter writing. Animation elsewhere followed suit.

Also, love Abbe's bit in this one lmao

Some of the more recent runs of the tv show indeed did have some more exploration of Dimension X and I think other alternate realities.

I... I don't get it. Did Abe pre-record all those things, and they just spliced it in? Did I miss an explanation? I mean, either way, it's hilarious, but I am genuinely confused. Edit: I've now reached a few things that SOUND like an actual exchange, but they are all consummate performers, so... I'm still on the fence.

They didn’t touch on the idea that TMNT is probably the most successful parody of all time. That is just took Daredevil and made it a joke.

I think Abe's a kid who likes turtles but his mutated/mutating turtles abducted him.

Ok. I am a HUGE TMNT nerd. And I mean the actual comics... Obviously, like most, I was introduced through the cartoon in the '80s but I haven't watched those since I was, like, 5 or whatever. I did watch this movie a few years ago, but I never saw the actual 2000s cartoon (you know, because I was an adult when it came out)... from what I heard it was a lot more in-line with the comics, as was the first live-action film. I'm not big on multi-verses or cartoons, but I remember this being fun, and much less grandiose and self-serious than all the modern Marvel crap. Casey Jones was in the comics and was a parody of '80s action film protagonists. In his first appearance, he's watching a Van Damne film, and then gets up, puts on the mask, and the rest played out pretty much like the live-action movie where he meets Raphael Krang didn't exist in the comics, but his race did. Utroms were a benevolent space-faring scientist species who did secret operations on earth. The "ooze" that mutated the turtles was essentially waste materials from their experiments. In the newer comics, they introduced General Krang, who was a war-fueled General who gets stuck on earth, and wants to terraform earth into his home planet. In the comics, they quickly moved from the sewers to above ground; an abandoned church, the farmhouse (as seen in the '90 live action film), a graveyard, and various other places after the Foot discovered their sewer hideout in the many different continuities, I kinda get them confused sometimes... *Swaim!* and *Adam!* Read The Last Ronin. Also, I recommend the "City at War" storyline from the original comics; I believe it's 13 issues and the finale of the original series. Issues 1-100 of the IDW run is very succinct and solid, but maybe too Marvel-esque (If you want to dip your toes, "City Fall" is a great storyline to start with). The issues of Mirage (the original series) are great up until they start the guest-artist era. The first 11 issues plus the Leo and Raph solo books are basically the storyline of the first live-action film. Also, I would LOVE to see yous guys cover the 1990 live-action TMNT film and see what non-TMNT nerds have to say in modern times, because to me it's still the greatest comic-book movie ever made...

32:07 Spike is kind of like McNulty from The Wire. Both are part of a larger ensemble, and neither is exactly the “main” character, but they do get a little more attention than the other characters. Also now that I think about it, they both catch criminals for a living, are very good at it, and use that as an excuse to avoid dealing with the actually important problems in their lives.
