The last chapter of the Major's Mask manga actually describes (or rather shows) the origin of the "mask" itself. The was once a great dragon that lived alone in a barren, nearly empty, land. The land is described as "a strange world that was not moving, but not dead, either... but had not necessarily stopped." The dragon was described as living there alone for countless number of years (possibly forever), "Not being able to vanish from the world, but not able to live, either." _and_ was "left here by the _cosmos_ ." The dragon devoured all that came looking for it as anyone who claimed the dragon's armor would be granted their wish. Meeting a warrior after so long, the warrior made the dragon realize that it had been stuck in this empty land for so thousands of years... until the dragon admits that it grew tired of being alone. Upon this realization, the desires of all those the dragon had devoured began to merge inside him and his "first 'wish' has been formed!" which was to "Make my time move!!" From that point on, the warrior played on his drum non-stop for 3 days and 3 nights; during those 3 days and nights, it is described that "Time is being born", and "On the morning of the fourth day, at the same moment his breathing ceased, the world finally crumbled. In the end all that was left was his armor." The warrior then proceeds to carve the dragon's armor into the titular Majora's Mask. The chapter ends with the warrior saying "Your power has been firmly sealed into this mask. Your power will no longer be a menace. I hope you sleep forever." Overall, It does hint to the power within the mask being something that predates "Time", but it also indicates that there were people before this event so it seems to bring up more questions than answers.

My 2ndfavorite game after ocarina and my favorite character

In a recent Master Mode play through where I committed to not using any form of fast travel, I found that my reliance on the roads, my horse and the ingredients around me at that time mattered much more and lead me down more "intended paths." The area I noticed the most difference in was resource gathering, as using the stable system and the traveling merchants becomes invaluable for acquiring ingredients that are on the other side of the world. Given you do this in master mode, the difficulty can demand better use of elixirs and foods, so cooking was something I did more often and it lead me to the paths more often traveled by merchants, where I could find a pot for cooking.

I'm pretty sure if you read the book/comic book up Majora's Mask it shows how majora was basically a dragon like creature that once lived for no reason in a plane that had no time that all it did was consumed. It wasn't until the Fierce Diety that came along, essentially tricked the Dragon with a song that made it dance for 3 days straight until it died and then he carved out the mask out of its scaled hide. Concealed it's power in The Mask.

FINALLY! SOMEBODY SAID IT! Other shorts have been saying "Now we can play the whole game with speaking Midna English!" Which is not only wrong, but idiotic. You hear her use a bunch of the same sounds throughout the game, the exception being during a cutcscenes and a few key moments in the game where her speech pattern seems pretty deliberately consistant rather than the random "Wabawaba" she speaks.

This is why breath of the wild has the best and most impactful story in the franchise

I've seen this theory for the first time in 2024 after getting back into zelda and i'm wondering if anyone noticed that the moon and the triangle on the deity's chest armor could be the moon of majora and the tetraforce instead of a singular triforce piece

Anyone who still hasn't played Xenogears, it's the magnum opus. Chronicles and Saga are great, however Gears is a masterpiece beyond words
