@Arcan17 well if we are talking weapons and armor, most of it doesn't have a high resell value or is broken so it doesn't sell. The magic items i sell are because I'm building for light armor with dodge, crit, and crit efficiency. So the items don't align with my build.

I kinda want to try to get a mage build to troll before I lose this character to the Manticore LOL (it'll be my first ever attempt again so I think it's pretty likely I lose the run there), I'm not really sure how to do early game combat with magic and I'm not really sure which elements to go for

@iAmMuu early game is really about staying safe a pulling 1 mob at a time. Carrying a net is a good idea. Try my Pyro geo combo build. Its a super safe build. Easy to play

How did you get the books that early?

You shozld do contracts until you're around lvl 15 before heading to the Rotten Willow if it's your first time playing, the questlog says as much. Osbrook only ever sells t1-2 equipment, Mannshire t1-3 if at 3000 or 4000 reputation, I forgot. It says so in journal [J] under "reputation", look for "extended ware selection". With Brynn you need 4000 rep for t4 and 5000rep for tier5 stuff. You can only gather rep in Brynn via doing contracts in other towns. If you go to Bailiffs, you get less money but extra rep in Brynn. Bailiffs are in different areas during the day and at night: Osbrook: Mill during day, Drunken Woodsman over night. Mannshire: Orchad during day, Winery over night.

@Sir_James.a.w i think you can answer that with best melee enchants. Life drain is always solid. Counter chance, elemental damage. Just anything that helps the damage.

@EthanDrake0 well. I just looked and going down into armor crusher can get you crit for enemies with no armor. Adrenaline rush has crit from athletics. In survival getting huntmaster gives crit to vigor. Im fact after looking at this, I'm thinking i could go down a similar path.

@KainYusanagi yes I could have but I need to maintain sieze the initiative on off cd to interrupt the troll. If i just use it when I want, then I it might not be available to stop the troll regen. Spears basic attacks are 1 tile and only certain skills allow to hit 2 tiles away.

@dragosfiscu5658 honestly hate young trolls. Stupid op. I don't like fighting them either but I just recommend fighting them at higher levels. Especially on permadeath death runs. Don't risk it if you ain't confident enough to kill them

@FaladAy13 maybe. But the troll regen can only be interrupted via melee. So that would hard to overcome.

@@okmallgaming There's a video out there about a guy throwing coins and proccing bleed to such a degree that troll regeneration doesn't outpace the damage taken.

@ Yeah if you're interested it's called, "Troll kill with coin tossing (with a bit of mace) Patch 0.6.1.9" Pretty sure the mace was just to break armor.

@George_Avgeris naw you right, though. I got them fairly early on my geo/pyro run, and they ain't maxed out yet. That run is level 24.

The issue is they only gain loyalty when you move around, which honestly makes no sense. I've gotten a backpack at like lvl 20, which feels about right. I did travel around a lot.

@lockekappa500 only moving and not time? So they don't gain anything from day to day while doing dungeons?

@ I dunno, it feels that way, but maybe I'm conflating travel time with time passage. It just feels like if you simply sleep you dont get alot of bond with them.

@TheBlackmistik well... xbows by far look way stronger. They take 2 turns to deal damage or three if you use take aim. But they have a much lower accuracy penalty that taking aim isn't going to be required to hit. I think bows are currently lacking in comparison. However, if your accuracy is good, you could just attack every single turn which could equate to more damage.

@elcuartetodepoo9701 it's location is random. The best thing you could do is every person in town for rumors, pay for rumors from the fence if he is unlocked in brynn, or go explore.

I ll be honest .. as the RtR update rolled out on my 1st playthrough (perma) .. i casually got to troll as i used to kill it without even 1hp damage on myself - ended up dying and still wondering on "what i did wrong" .. and i now even have lvl 25 chars that hasn't got to troll yet :/

@George_Avgeris lol I would bosses are less important now since the update. But hey it's still fun to challenge it and get the loots.

@presidentialsystemenjoyer hmm... spear is a good choice if your goal is to immobilize the enemy from a tile away and give you breathing room. Daggers can scale well with ranged since you can take advantage of the added crit. Personally, I'm going to use a strong 2h, or a light shield with a t4 or t5 1h weapon. I'm still waiting on a good 1h weapon that im willing to replace that spear with. I'm not in a hurry to find a weapon yet since most enemies have been dying before they get to me.
