Awesome video!! How did you find the rainy season affecting your travels? I'm heading there next month in July and wonder how predictable the rain is. I'm also wondering what kind of attire you'd recommend (like are light material hiking pants for jungle-type areas a good idea to stay dry and protected or is it fine enough to just go shorts 24/7)
@vipepics7 ай бұрын
Thanks! Back then, sure it rained almost every day, but not all the time. So with my friend, we certainly were okay with the rainy season as there were less other travellers. I carried a long-sleeved shirt and light outdoor pants, but ended up using shorts 90% of the time. If you're going to Guatemala for hiking (e.g. Acatenango), there I at least used the pants more often.

Thanks a lot for sharing that brilliant video! I'll be travelling solo in Bolivia this Summer and would like to do the same 4 day tour from Tupiza to Uyuni with La Torre Tours. Now, i had a close look at their website and am a bit confused as to which option to choose from. My main concern is that what they call the "basic shared tour" might be a bit cramped with 5 participants in the car. Their other option which takes only 4 people is the "shared tour - comfort option" which is twice the price, offering private rooms and bathrooms. I'm happy sharing dorms and toilets/bathrooms, though, so the "Comfort option" isn't what i'm actually looking for. I have a questions for you, if you don't mind : I see there were 4 of you in the car. Which option did you choose? Thank you!
@vipepics8 ай бұрын
Glad you found this video useful 👌 We travelled there in the first week of December and booked everything at the very last minute: the cheapest basic tour. But we were super lucky - as due to the off-season - there were only two other travellers. Our co-travellers had booked the trip early in advance using the comfort option. So they had a bit better rooms in the lodges, but other than that we were treated equally. So if you are planning to be there during the high season, it is very likely the basic option tours will be with "full" cars.
@fredoc26028 ай бұрын
@@vipepics That's what i thought. I guess i'll have to go with 5 people then, as their "comfort option" doesn't make sense to me at all. Thanks very much for getting back to me. Again, your video gets me really excited. Can't wait to be there!

What a well thought out and presented video. I used to work as a tourist guide in Southern Africa for most of my life, but after Covid I became a teacher. This year I am getting an opportunity to travel to Peru and the Amazon to also experience the lungs of mother nature for myself. I have watched countless videos of Peru and the Amazon, and yours is by far the best. Well done. P.s. it also helps that you are Finish and some of my best friends that I have made in my life are all from Finland. Kiitos! You have got yourself a new subscriber.

A very great guide, in fact only for adventurers, if you want luxuries you will not find them here, its concept of luxury is very basic, the ideal is to go into the jungle but be careful with allergies, it was a great experience. In my case, I tried to look for any allergies. With many communities and I only found Yakumama tours and Explorama that has jazucci and air conditioning, they are all very basic, in fact 3 days inside the jungle is the maximum!!! And about the little monkeys, it's a shame that on my date when I went alone, they only released a few of us and charged us if we wanted to see more, be careful with that.

@vipepics10 ай бұрын
If you're going to Galápagos, I'd be happy to recommend Scuba Iguana based in Santa Cruz. They all have some bad reviews in Google Maps, but at least for us the Iguana was a great dive shop. But obviously one could get to the best spots (Wolf & Darwin) only with a liveaboard. Gordon Rocks, North Seymour and Isla Floreana were fantastic dive spots, but we got lucky with the conditions. Also good to keep in mind that you need to have 25+ logged dives to be able to dive in some of the spots (e.g. Gordon Rocks in Santa Cruz or Kicker Rock in San Cristobal).

Hey adventurers, let me share my 3-day experience in the Amazon rainforest of Iquitos! A true wonder. KZbin videos guided me, but living it was something unique. Thanks to my incredible tour operator, I explored the jungle, immersed myself in nature, and lived unforgettable moments. If you're in Iquitos, don't miss out on this experience! By the way, get ready to disconnect, internet is scarce but the adventure is infinite! ... important: don't wear dark clothes, bring a water bottle, and handheld and head flashlights! If you want, you can check with Yakumama Tours; there are multiple options in the city, but at least with them, it was fantastic!! Best of luck in your adventures!

Hi Viljami! Great video! Do you mind sharing your thoughts on what lens is best to bring on this trek? I'm debating between a 28-75 mm vs 28-200mm. Thank you!

I carried 24-70 mm, 70-200 mm and 10-18 mm lenses, with loads of extra batteries and memory cards. And the GoPro. Used all of these lenses, 70-200 mm for almost all wildlife shots and mountain close-ups, but then 10-18 mm and 24-70 mm for people and landscape photos. Even though this resulted as a heavy day backpack, now looking at the photos, it was worth it (:

Happy to hear! 🤙 We spent many nights in night buses, in both top and bottom floors - with no issues whatsoever. With Todo, we took the top floor, but as it was a rainy night, we didn't see much and just slept the whole way 😅 I'd book in advance, if your schedule is otherwise set. Also remember the rainy season, which might make some areas of the salt flats inaccessible (if too much water, the cars will get stuck).
