1. No this is not a reaction you should expect, thats stupid. You cannhit arm drags off over under but the setup being your partner turning into a noodle is trash. 2. This is a reckless attack that will only work on newbs. Also not a hammer lock 3. Not a lateral drop at all. You sat to your butt and did a butterfly sweep, which is okay but not a lat drop at all. 4. Very bad demo of a trip.

I feel like somehow saying "clap them cheeks" contributed to getting this video into my algorithm. Not sure what that says about me, but alright, I can pass someone's guard now at least

Sorry for the late reply as we didn’t see them. Arching your back for better posture and make sure your palms are inside the indentation of their hips with your arms locked out. Way harder for them to break you down with the arms locked out vs being bent and easy to pull in. Give it a try and tell us how it goes!

Much more difficult to do if your opponent keeps their underhook forearm PARALLEL vs vertical.
@WarRoomJiuJitsu
@WarRoomJiuJitsu Жыл бұрын
If you get deep on the Overhook and high up in the shoulder it’s almost impossible for them to keep that forearm up. Good posture will bring it down every time.
@40acresandatractor
@40acresandatractor Жыл бұрын
@@WarRoomJiuJitsu Not sure about that one. Have some one keep there forearm parallel like I stated and circle hard to the underhook side, it's almost impossible to stop.

Bc the topic is about unique variations I’d like to share mine: I’ll get my grip around the head and arm as usual but I like to put my head on the opposite side of the locked arm, I find it difficult to get into ideal head position from underneath the arm of an opponent, and I have more leverage to squeeze for the choke itself

When you break your grip to push leg down, how are you not getting arm barred in live roll?
@WarRoomJiuJitsu
@WarRoomJiuJitsu Жыл бұрын
Typically they will bring their legs up to catch yours instead of letting go of their grip on the hands. If they grabbed it this way in a live roll they would most definitely get arm barred first. 😂

i was told to keep my ear on their belly to prevent guillotines
@WarRoomJiuJitsu
@WarRoomJiuJitsu Жыл бұрын
That is correct! I just describe it as looking up and into them but yes that is how you defend from the guillotine. Also, by bringing their knees across, even if they do sink a guillotine attempt, your body will be on the opposite side of the choke, allowing you to get an easy Von Flue finish to counter.

I’ve used this guard break even at the highest levels against world champions. If it’s not working you may need to adjust your leg angle to create better leverage and space between their legs to break open the guard. 😁

So with this variation I see you're using your thumb on the kimura grip. Is that more advantageous in this style of kimura or just a personal preference?
@WarRoomJiuJitsu
@WarRoomJiuJitsu Жыл бұрын
Just personal preference depending on the angle for me. With a lot of Kimuras you need the thumb out of the way in order to get appropriate pressure but this way it’s not necessary.

I think really good I mean you guys went to the other side and did that I just don’t understand why when you’re digging for that shoulder right there underneath that arm you can’t do it right why are you don’t bring your knee behind your arm pushing the elbow, the same way you do on the other side but you do it on that side and don’t jump over because sometimes when you jump over you might lose the position
