I can’t wait to order my 14” PY tomorrow . Does the gorilla clamp come with the kit when you order complete set? I do have a set of the bushing in my cart. Do I need to add the clamp also ?

I went from stock to 14 in ape hangers and had too much free play. I replaced my riser bushing to the red polyurethane from JP cycle and now I have the same play that shows in this video at 0:54 seconds.

Buyer beware! These guys charge you for your complete bars as soon as order is received! Very dodgy business practice. Tried to cancel the order 2 days after I made the order, would have cost me $600 in restock fee! Honestly, I'm still waiting on my order over 3 weeks after I ordered. Setups like these can be had for less than HALF. Very disgruntled customer! I'm sure HCCC will delete this post.

For those who don't know, bottom-to-bottom of a bar (or pipe) of the same diameter on a bench is the easy way to measure center-to-center.

I know that this video is a bit old. I have Heritage 114 and an Ultra Limited 114. I am considering going to higher (shoulder height) bars on my Ultra, for comfort on long rides. My biggest concern with going to higher bars is that the higher bars may make slow-speed maneuvering much more difficult. Both effective slow-speed maneuvering and long-ride comfort are important. Do you have any comments on how shoulder-high bars may adversely affect slow-speed handling of a heavy touring bike?

You really shouldn’t base it off your actual height, I’m 5’5, I have a friend who’s 5’8, when sitting I tend to sit higher given I have a longer upper body then he does, and my arm reach is also longer

That is a real bonus tip on the brake bleed. I have used a syringe to pull out old fluid, but never thought to use it to push from the bleeder. Awesome!

Superior video! Only used to carb’s. Twin cam is reversed and I didn’t want to pull the whole air cleaner assembly off. Sick of flipping 1 page backwards one page forward one page backward in the service manual!? Hearing your click and being familiar mechanically. Job was a breeze! Just subscribed! I agree with most: Best throttle/idle adjustment video out here!

I’ll try and remember this the next time I already but new tires on my 2016 Ultra Limited. I have a friend who mounted the tires and balanced them and he found that one of the front wheel bearings was bad with only 12,000 miles I was shocked so I bought new bearings and he installed them. This bike has the anti skid brakes so special bearings are needed and one bearing is color code to go on the sensor side. Thanks for the great tip.

I've been saying this for the last year! Apes with a back rest and floorboards is *the truth*. I strap my ruck to my 20" sissy bar which provides full back support and kick my 16" apes back towards me juuuust a touch. I used the exact same analogy, that it's like riding a couch down the highway. 13.5 hours straight like that one my Softail Slim, and 20 minutes from my destination I was still dancing around in my lane, singing to my music, not a care in the world.

I have recently bought a Heritage Softail, 2006 with stock bars. I have adjusted the bars a couple times but I am getting “tennis” elbow in the right arm. I have adjusted to where I have a slight bend in my elbow, but they do sit a little low. Just wondering what I can do to adjust. Appreciate any pointers.

Thank you for making that easy to understand. I've just replaced my stator and reg. Went to test it and it fired right up. Pulled in the clutch and shifted into 1st. I felt the click of the shifter and watched the neutral light go off and let out on the clutch. After letting it all the way out the bike didn't move. It didn't even have a thought of moving. So I've done something wrong. I've watched a bunch of videos on this and I wished I would have found yours right out the gate. It's groundhog day daily here at my place. I troubleshoot, fail, wake up, try again and fail. You did a great job on your video but I was hoping you'd go into what symptoms would be if the viewer were to go wrong on any number of of pitfalls that we could experience along the way. Of course j have the luxury of hindsight so I'm not armchair quarterbacks you at all. I'm just wanting to ride and I can't. I'm close but that doesn't get me rolling out of the garage. If you would give me some suggestions to try that would great. There are too many questions I don't have answers to. Like are the clutch plates in the right sequence or did I get something out of order? Or was I led astray by the initial videos? They were saying to bottom out that male thread that goes into the shaft and then back it out 3,/4 of a turn and then tighten the nut? When you didn't mention that it got my attention. Maybe I shouldn't have backed it out once I bottomed out? Sorry for the long message. I just wamt to get out there on my bike. Please help. Thank you!!

Hey, that was really helpful and I appreciate the suggestions. I ride a ‘18 TriGlide Anniversary Edition my arms are shrinking…..I am 77. I need to sit up straighter and it’s been suggested by others that a higher bar also makes it easier to “steer” a 3 wheeler? I made the transition from 2 wheels to three about 2 years ago. The first bar upgrade just isn’t long enough and I am reaching too far forward still. I want my arms to be bent some and not straight correct? I know all too well those neck and shoulder muscle aches! Thanks for your time, help and suggestions. Stay safe.
