I think you described it right. the pacing being slower made me not like the newer donkey kongs. I didnt have enough money for a wii or wii u I couldn't play nintendo games after the n64. I finally bought a switch and was like I miss donkey Kong let's see what the new ones are like.... bought tropical freeze got bored after windmill stopped playing it and later sold it... thiers just something about rares older games I played 1,2 and 3 never got bored. even replayed them as I got older still fun. imsad too wish I could like the new ones

I think it's interesting to see the comparisons between the difficulties in Mario Kart, since it is true that a lot of the challenges come from the fact that some Mario Karts (Mario Kart DS and beyond) control much better than others (Mario Kart og) and how that impacts it. That being said I specifically bring this up to brag about 12 y/o me and how she could perfectly race Rainbow Road on Double Dash. Having gotten used to the better physics in every other game that came after I cannot relate now and actively struggle with flawless runs but I spent just every day racing Rainbow Road for fun on time trials just because I thought it was pretty and once I got a good understanding of the mechanics I would just race it against my friends to make them all hate me for fun. It was a great time. I really wish they'd rerelease the track as is but with a modern engine so I could see if it is that hard or if it's just how the game mechanics worked back then. Because I agree with it being the hardest Rainbow Road now (and even learning it took a while for me whereas the others I learned pretty easily) but there is that feeling in the back of my mind going "but what if the track layout isn't actually that bad it's just the Double Dash physics engine.

Devil May Cry 3 is hands down my favorite game of all time. I still have the original PS2 version that accidentally set Easy to Hard in the U.S. version; the Special Edition that introduced Vergil, Bloody Palace, and Gold Mode. Plus, I've got the 5th Anniversary Collection that bundles all three games that I got for Christmas back in 2006. I've beaten it 100% on ps2, ps3 and ps4 in the HD collections. Trying to find the triple pack on the switch since that version gives you all weapons and styles at your disposable during gameplay

Opinion before the video, goinna see if the video changes my mind at all: As someone who's played every game way too many times. DMC3 takes the cake by a country mile. Especially on an initial playthrough without all your stuff unlocked.

You can avoid the Gloom Hands by making them spawn in, jumping to the lower platform and clinging to the wall. Eventually, one of the hands falls to the lower level, causing them all to despawn WITHOUT spawning a Phantom Ganon

I used to struggle with the wolf mission too before I learned that if you jump on one of the windmills (not to the top platform just the right on the ground) the wolf can't hit you and you can shoot it easily

Where do the deaths stack per game per mission/ episode in the final tally? I would like to see a qualitative breakdown as well. Not just sheer quantity. What I mean is, what missions are the bulk of the deaths associated with? If we have 1 mission in 1 game resulting in a majority of deaths, but in another game with fewer overall deaths, but more missions where death is likely, we could then say 1 Game has the harder missions, but another game has more missions with potential for death, so the latter may be harder overall? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Im just starting the video but im gonna say the DMC 5 is NOT the hardest game, especially since it doesnt let you play on Hard difficulty until you beat the game once (which is stupid as fuck).

These games were my childhood! Often times I had little else to do but boot up sly and replay things, or even mess around with various bugs. In all my time playing I found out that instead of using an alarm clock to lure away that one guard with his back to the wall. You can jump and slam just outside his flashlight. The noise will lure that guard, but not the others. I believe this way is slightly less time for them to be distracted though it's been a while since I've played. Glad to see more people enjoying my favorite games.

V is horrible. The whole character playstyle feels like a quick time event. And when your dawg and birb die you ae just waiting around with your wet noodle of a cane

Quick fun fact about DMC3 PS2 version. When u choose normal difficulty on your first playthrough the game will load a hard difficulty. this error is fixed in pc version due to patch from capcom. Imagine being like me like 8 to 10 years old playing on PS2 aginst Cerberus on normal when in fact you're plauing on hard and I was oblitarete multiply times by this 3-headed dogshit :D I passed this game at least 5 times because of this bug in PS2 version until I was old enough to push myself to beat this boss. Ah, great times , beautifull memories :D

The problem Splatoon faces is that every game becomes obsolete over time. Since there's no way to play split screen with your irl friends, the games lose pretty much their entire appeal as soon as you can't play online anymore. Real shame. Wish they'd make Splatoon in the same spirit they make Mario Kart, which you can keep playing forever. Until they do that, I can't see Splatoon becoming a true flagship, because if there's one thing all the flagships have in common it's that their iconic games are very easy to get hold of on several different consoles - and once you have bought it, you can keep playing forever and ever without any issue. One of my favourite things about Nintendo is the way they don't typically lean into planned obsoleteness, so I really wish for that to be true for Splatoon as well.

"Cancer trophies: Navigate Like Drake" YES! I was partway into "Of Mice and Mechs" when I saw that one on the trophy list and groaned. To this day, I've still never gone back and opened every map on every previous job because the load times on the Vita version are atrocious. Also, I'm surprised the time trial of the Sly family vault run in Sly 3 wasn't one of the challenges you had the most trouble with. I sure know it was THE challenge I had the most trouble with when 100%'ing Sly 3. Also, a sidenote about the video itself. It might be worth putting the death counter somewhere else. If you have annotations on, the death count is covered by the channel icon in the corner of the video screen. While you can just turn them off, it is a feature that's on be default on KZbin. Overall though, a great video. I was honestly expecting Sly 3 to come out on top as the hardest, but Sly 1 is the only one in the franchise I haven't played, so I had no idea that it had time trials that hard.
