It’s like that because Vitamin C needs to be in a container that isn’t clear so it doesn’t oxidize. That’s why it turns orange in that clear container at the beginning of the video as vitamin C is sensitive to certain temperatures. Many companies do this which keeps it fresh for a year. It isn’t just this company. :)

Skin is often likened to a brick wall, with skin cells acting as bricks and ceramides, a type of lipid molecule, serving as the mortar holding everything together. When this protective layer is compromised due to damage or inflammation, moisture can escape, and irritants can penetrate, leading to various skin issues like dryness, sensitivity, or inflammation. However, while many attribute these problems to a phenomenon known as Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL), I propose a different perspective. Instead of just water loss, I believe the primary issue is Transepidermal Fat Loss (TEFL), where the essential fats crucial for maintaining skin integrity are depleted, akin to the mortar between the bricks being eroded. In this view, every time we subject our skin to harsh conditions like hot showers or aggressive cleansing with soaps, we're essentially washing away these vital fats, leaving our skin vulnerable. Without an adequate lipid barrier, moisture escapes more easily, exacerbating dryness, while harmful bacteria find it easier to colonize, leading to inflammation. To address this, it's crucial to replenish these lost fats. Instead of water-based moisturizers, which only offer temporary relief, opting for saturated animal fats or butter can effectively nourish the skin and restore its lipid barrier. Additionally, using cleansers containing saturated animal fats like sodium tallowate can help maintain skin health while avoiding further damage. By shifting our focus from mere water loss to the broader concept of fat loss, we can better understand and address common skin issues. Incorporating this perspective into skincare routines, such as washing with distilled water and moisturizing with a watered-down melted butter, may offer a more sustainable approach to maintaining healthy, resilient skin.

The biggest proof of that is the testers in department stores of the brands that are “preservative free” , they got molds and got spoiled very quickly to a degree that people working there have to replace them very quickly (I worked there once) and it brought us a hustle and difficulty dealing with the suppliers to send extra testers.

Thank you so much for this. I just started using a face wash that contains DMDM Hydantoin and a body lotion with diazolidinyl urea and I was freaking out after finding out these are formaldehyde releasers. I can now sleep peacefully thanks to you.

So educational!! Thank you for sharing the facts. The thing I've always loved about your company is you don't pump out a bunch of products to keep up with the latest hyped products or fads. Instead it's obvious your products are well thought out and fantastically formulated. Thank you for protecting our skin by using the most science backed and studied preservatives. I would rather have a well preserved product, than one that's using something less effective just to market and play off the fear all this "clean" beauty buzz has brought about.

i am 66 years old with relatively dry skin. I love your liquid gold. I would like to add fortify and eventually c and c serum. Please advise me in what order to use these products in my routine. I promise to add only one/week. I do have eczema which requires intermittent topical treatment. thank you

Agreed. I recently got the C+C, and I love the delivery method of evaporative silicone. Really innovative. However, I also love to use a mugwort essence to help my skin stay calm and hydrated, and I'm not sure if I should apply it before or after the C+C, given the unique application of the latter.
@Stratia2 жыл бұрын
Hi! @@johnmichaelarnaud We recommend that C+C is applied after cleansing, to dry skin and that you allow a few minutes for the silicone base to fully evaporate before continuing your routine. Applying products before or directly after C+C can result in piling :)

This was so informative! I was admittedly afraid of the diazolidinyl urea until I did further research and learned, as you mentioned, that you’re exposed to those amounts from fruit too. It really puts things into perspective and your comment on exotic vs mundane is so true. I’d love a video discussing DMAE since it’s another “controversial” ingredient you decided to use!
