There's water iH2O n Opals. In Brazil we have only white opals. They are found in the state of Piauí. You may like it or not, but they are very interesting gemstones.

Emeralds can be treated as well. Many gemstones can be treated. This is a common way of making gemstones more valuable. The first thing that comes to my mind when we are talking about Jade is China.

Corundum is a family of gemstones, 9 value of hardness in the Mohs scale (way of measurement of gemstones). Like morganites, emeralds, and aquamarines are Beryls, also another family, 7.5 Mohs. Rubies are beautiful, indeed. 🙏🏻

Tsavorite (green garnet) Alexandrite, and Paraiba tourmaline can easily cost more than diamonds, depending on the quality.

I'm Brazilian. And have a great experience with gemstones. In Brazil we have fine emeralds and until these stones were found in South Africa, we were the greatest world producers. In my learning school, we don't say semi precious stones. All stones used in jewelry can be called precious. It's like a pregnant woman, she can't be semi pregnant.😊

I've got a large "Viking whetstone" pendant in a beautiful blue/green jadeite - it's been prepped to a rougher grit and is hard enough to sharpen steel knives very well

Diamonds are not that rare haha they are everywhere and don’t hold value either. Diamonds are way over-priced. It said they are rare to justify the huge price tag.

I took several pieces of 22K gold jewelry worth over $5000 in scrap weight to a couple of local jewelry stores. They offered $1500 and tried to make me feel like I was scamming them or maybe I was a thief. Since they both played this hand, I guess it is like used car dealers and they have canned responses.

The most beautiful stone ring I ever saw and coveted was a dark pine green emerald cut tourmaline set in gold. I was ten years old and have never forgotten it for 65 years.

The shocking thing is that when you filmed this, if a 1 carat, G, VS1, xxx mined diamond were priced at, say $7,000, then the lab grown of similar quality would have been $4,500. At that time the lab grown option was not that compelling, at least not in terms of money, perhaps in terms of strip mining, human slavery, financing of wars etc., but not money out of pocket. Today that same quality lab grown diamond is $500. It's going to be interesting to see if brides appreciate the saved money, or if they will wonder if the groom is really "sacrificing" enough to prove his love.

I have studied the basic of diamond grading. In my own opinion, I do think the 4C’s are all important. Not one weighs more than the others. One low C can ruin the other 3 C’s. This is how I see. With a low budget should just go for small carat as all you want is a diamond ring and not to show off. A small one is hard to see the other Bad side of the 3 C’s. Thank you. Love your video. ❤

this is my first video about diamonds as i start looking for items that may hold value while the dollar depreciates, lots to think about. but in a hyperinflation scenario i think people will drive up the cost of gold, silver, housing ect. not sure how many people would be willing learn enough about diamonds to feel comfortable purchasing a 50k to 100k diamond for protection....or maybe im just wasting time?...

As nice as white gold is there is maintenance that the owner should know about. Depending on what constitutes normal wear for the, uh, wearer, the coating of white gold wears off over time. Then you have to part with the piece to have a spa day to get the white gold reapplied to the worn areas. Platinum is a good choice if you don't want the maintenance of white gold, just know that it shows its wear as the shine wears off and dulls to more of a patina, which some people actually prefer. Take a drink every time you had to read the word wear, lol!

If asked nicely I would be happy to tell you some Alaska Jade stories that will melt your brains, all based on extensive personal experience as a professional Jade carver at John Haley's Alaska Jade Cache in the late 70's. I worked with many tons of jet black, wheat grass green, sky blue and red to orange to yellow to green to blue to blue chatuant and right back the other way. I know none of that was treated because I cut it off raw block direct from the source weighing between 45 pounds and 8 tons. Ok, I'll stop (until you twist my arm)....

Well the consideration on the prongs potentially being a weak point in silver engagement rings was a new fact for me. What should I do if I can only afford silver though? Not much white gold where I’m from and the price jump is significant. How much of a concern would the crystal falling off be, if it’s a solitaire like silver ring.

I inherited a pigeon blood ruby ring / matching earrings, that has a orange and yellow fire when I put it under my microscope and look at it through the lens . I believe it's a pigeon blood ruby , I have the matching earrings. got matching earrings I believe the Middle Stone is 1 carat and the rest of the stones are like maybe 16 more Stones they're probably half carats the same with the earrings. If I sent you pictures could someone please help me to identify what these are? 17:24
