This is fantastic. The diagrams and photos explain a lot. I spend very little, and buy rings for fun, but knowing something about them enhances the experience.

Can you make a video about how durable prong vs bezel settings are and who should consider each? How often do people with bezel settings vs prong settings need repair and when someone says a bezel set is great for an active lifestyle, what do they mean? Which settings are most or least comfortable and/or catch on things/poke?

As nice as white gold is there is maintenance that the owner should know about. Depending on what constitutes normal wear for the, uh, wearer, the coating of white gold wears off over time. Then you have to part with the piece to have a spa day to get the white gold reapplied to the worn areas. Platinum is a good choice if you don't want the maintenance of white gold, just know that it shows its wear as the shine wears off and dulls to more of a patina, which some people actually prefer. Take a drink every time you had to read the word wear, lol!

Hello YAJ -- Please explain the difference between Gold and Rose Gold, involving jewelry... some of us retail buyers are unaware of all the different types of metal used other than Gold & Silver. Thank you for your videos.

Rose gold is a type of gold made using a combination of mostly gold and a little bit of copper to give it the pinkish hue. Lower karats have higher copper. But if you want a lower karat gold but you want it to retain it's golden hue, it's mixed with copper and silver to balance the color. Occasionally other metals will be used though

Thank you for the video. I love buying used broken jewelry. My rule is never go below 14k but I've seen higher grades of gold with really bad stones. Is there a method of finding good quality?

Still love old fashioned 18kt yellow or rose gold - white gold, rodium plated, does'nt do it for me,looks cheap, and have to be resurface with time.
