Realmente incomparable !!!! Gracias gracias infinitas !!!! 🌹🙏🏻🌿

I’ve listened to numerous versions of Mozart’s this famous piano concerto. And over the years Lipatti’s still has been one of a kind.

Back in the 60s, this was the lead off tune from the BBCs Listen With Mother, on the radio. It permeated my young life. One of those gateway drugs into music.

I remember it. The programme was known in our family as "Dinky bells" from the chimes at the beginning. I can still hear the voice saying "The time is a quarter to two. Time for Listen with Mother".

I do not think that with these no. 1 and no 2 he would pass the first round of the Warsaw Chopin competition. The jury would not accept the pedal drowned chromatic lines of no. 2. No 11 in e flat major among others is open to criticism, too. In German we call it „geschmäcklerisch“. Exaggerated sweetness, just the opposite of Pollinis interpretation who exaggerates in the other direction. Listen to Trifonow or some young people from the Far East.

Brasil.

I am not so thrilled with vastly over-rated Karajan. But Lipatti's brilliance definitely and convincingly rises above this conductor's mediocrity.

My mother bought a Columbia records album of this piece with Emil Gilels when I was 9 years old. I literally played it every single day from grade school through college. It was the only way I could study. His magnificent interpretation of this piece is so far beyond any I have ever heard. His music is hardwired into my soul. We moved into a fifth wheel a few years back and that same album is now in storage I miss it. What a joy to find this on KZbin. It was a different orchestra but the same Gilels.

Very nice but I think it's mostly too loud, and he seems to fudge a few places he doesn't seem to be very interested in, including near the very beginning. His color rarely varies. Brutal mostly, but that's my take.

Great interpretation (from all musical aspects) and realization, which combines deep understanding of the Baroque era with great pianism skills. Bravissimo!
