Delta Force runs on the Unreal Engine 5, I played it at 100+ fps at pre-maximum settings on an RTX 4060 laptop in 2k resolution. At the same time, STALKER 2 runs at 45 fps on medium settings. It's not about UE5, but about developers who don't want to learn how to optimize their games.

The game has lots of potential, but until they fix questlines, enemy AI, crashes, etc, this won’t surpass 9/10 to me.

Lmao. I still play Morrowind on the Xbox. If I'm able to accept that game and alllll of it's quirks and on top of that it's modless on Xbox....I quit stalker 2 within 40 minutes because I found it to be so boring and it felt like I played so many games like it before.

DLSS was supposed to be a bonus, not a necessity to get up to the baseline of acceptable framerate.

where have you been the last decade, what game comes out flawless, i wasn't thinking of playing it for a month after release, people need to expect games released with issues, or you're setting yourself up for unnecessary tantrums, going live on launch day is silly

After beating it with 80 hours I just summed it up as Far Cry 3 through 6 with a stalker skin.

Hmm. Firstly, my sentiment towards Stalker 2 is also one of disappointment - though of a different variety. I just didn't feel it was an evolution on most fronts - and on some fronts it's a devolution (looking at you a-life). It's basically 'stalker omage with a new coat of paint and through a generic modern open world lens'. That said, I don't blame GSC for using Unreal Engine - it's a gargantuan task to roll your own engine, so it makes sense to use a third party engine - and for a modern FPS, Unreal's pretty much your go to in terms of feature completeness. As for the performance issues, I suspect a lot of it is not entirely on Unreal - though I'm sure plenty is - and that much of it actually comes down to GSC being so behind on shipping the game that they didn't devote enough time and energy to optimization on the way. It's quite possible to ship well performing games using your Unreals or your Unitys if you treat performance like a priority.

I know I'm late commenting on this video, but I had to put my two cents in. I love STALKER as a game and the concept behind it. I marked the announcements in 2010 and 2018. My brother, who loves the game as much as I do, and I used to joke that it would soon be released from 2010 to 2024. I was skeptical when I finally saw some gameplay. It looked too good for an open-world title that had to run on today's consoles and hardware. And even after graphics downgrades, for which there are good comparison videos, the game still runs miserably, even after the first patches. This is the problem with UE 5: The engine can run well, but you have to know how to tune it. @ThreatInteractive has good videos on the subject. For a small team that's unfamiliar with the engine, has to release it on multiple platforms at the same time, and is under time pressure, this is almost impossible. Not to mention their personal exclusion zone at home. There have been almost instant mods that have doubled the performance in some scenarios without changing or even improving the graphics. It just goes to show that they can use the engine, but don't know all the hidden tricks that are very important. Then there's Lumen and Nanite, which are good tools in principle, but are really just shortcuts at the expense of performance. So you end up with a game that runs poorly even with upscaling, frame gen and mods, and it still lacks the most vital part of its predecessors: A-Life I was so looking forward to it, as they were no longer tied to a single core and could have done all the calculations in parallel. But what's in it is an unfinished joke of a system that doesn't even work in principle. NPCs spawn randomly in your immediate vicinity. Then there is virtually no faction system, at least not as well thought out and tuned as before, no mutant loot, hardly any dynamic artifact spawns, and even the mutants and enemy ki have gotten worse. So my conclusion is that I still play the game because I love the previous games and just needed a change. However, I don't see Stalker 2 being as loved in the long run as Season 1 episodes 1-3 and their total conversions.

After like 80 hours of gameplay Im done. I cant deal with this performance anymore... it is so unbearable and I am really surprised that I kept playing for so long thinking that they will fix it soon... I want a refund because I dont have any hope for it.

I tried to enjoy it but eventually just quit halfway through. Regardless of the bugs/performance, it felt repetitive and just not fun at all. Very boring to traverse across a dead landscape, feels like a walking simulator with nothing aesthetic to look at

The fact that blue sky gets hate for a hard intro when Stalker 2s into puts you in a sewer with only a headlight and having to just walk everywhere is so annoying its unreal gsc fell off hard

stalker anomaly stan here, while stalker 2 is….for me at best a 5/10, stalker anomaly or gamma is and will always be my go to. stalker 2 can bounce back if they hopefully: 1. fix stealth, nobody enjoys being spotted from behind walls, at night, from 300m away. 2. repair costs, repairing one set of armor basically makes whatever pay you made from last side mission worthless, especially when enemies laser you with their aimbot. 3. enemy aim/line of sight, idk wtf they did, but man did they take the dark souls route of difficult, I.E not fun whatsoever, most enemy fights in the open world i run from because enemies can see you through 5 layers of shrubbery at pitch black night time. lastly 4. make mutants actually worth fighting, let us loot their skins, parts etc. instead in this game all mutants main purpose is to detour players from being immersed in this genuinely gorgeous world to explore, and also they are way to tanky, a chimera should NOT take 3 rockets to the face to kill.

Stalker 2 should be canceled man and i dont know why many people are so defensive about this game. First, the game got massive downgrade almost in the same level of watch dog and the division, but people are refused to talk about it. Story sucks just wandering around looking for people it's far from Metro quality. Gameplay sucks the gunplay suck you don't feel like hitting the target. Performance are really bad, vram spikes when talking to people. People are bashing game like Starfield or SW outlaw but they are more playable and feel like an actual finish product.

Let's be honest the game is poo poo and anyone saying immersion makes up for gameplay, graphics, performance, AI, lies, using the war in Ukraine as marketing etc. they are either full of it or humanity is really at rock bottom. I've bought the premium edition and have forced myself to give it chance after chance but even playing at 1080p and sometimes removing upscaling just to check if I'm just a hater, things that are 50 meters away from me feel blurry and as if they are vibrating, it makes me a bit nauseous

Worked for me 100% I’d tried almost everything including taking the computer to the shop for them to fix, after I followed this I called the shop and they even said they would not of thought of this. Finally I can play smoothly
