I say its still way better language to understand and speak than german and french...... The amount of throat sounds you need to produce literally leaves you sore throat at the end of the day...

The sad part is that these guys have been forcefully converted, and they would have lost at least 90% of their tradition and culture.

The development of these languages must have been fascinating! A lot of languages are developed over time due to geography and topography of a certain region. Northern European languages are more consonant heavy due sounds carrying better in cold mountain air.
