Wow! Didn't know about the no country for old men release either and I'm usually on it with the Criterion stuff! Glad I popped in to see your video. Btw, that inflatable is really funny to me but at the same time it worked in that room. Yeah, some textures on that back wall would help. Or even just hanging up a minimalist few dark colors piece of artwork on a matte canvas. I realize you probably want something simple that can be multipurpose for video

Are you running the NISI VND with no IR cut? I’d be worried about IR pollution

@ nisi swift is so good and they have an IR for the kit. I use Element IR ND when using full size.

Sigma Art 40mm f1.4 is a beast in mtf charts & image quality. Almost zero distortion & bright & super sharp, practically zero chroma. Affordable perhaps at £650 or £450 used. Big & heavy but worth it. ●Best at F2.8-F5.6

Awesome review! Would you say the image difference between these and the Arles is significant? I really like the look of the Arles but their size is what’s making me doubt. I was wondering if these would fit the bill in therms of image

"Where am I gonna put this" has been a major problem with the lights and modifiers getting bigger and bigger. I got some Aputure Spotlight Max's recently and their road cases are way too large. I ended up building my own open boxes for them out of Europly that are a lot more compact and fit the spaces I had available on the truck.

Idk about the Inflatable soft box. It will inevitably puncture somewhere during regular wear and tear. A cloth or standard soft box will always work. The inflating is one extra step that's not needed. However, I did see a tube light built into an inflatable bar which could work for on the go or outdoor use with less gear. 🤷🏻♂️

Still have the Komodo for non-KZbin work. Buying another Red soon. I haven’t used the gh7 but it seems like a very nice mirrorless camera. Don’t love the small sensor

Totally agree about the sensor, did realize the Panasonic Lumix S5 IIX was full-frame. Hopefully soon GH7 AF will arrive within a S5 IIIX with some other goodie’s. Have you hade the C400 or C80 in your hands? I believe the RF mount may keep you away I’m heavily invested in the RF ecosystem.

Always nice watching your brain work. Also, I got your in-camera LUTS and shot a music vidi with them right away and let me say, Game Changer. It was all natural light out in a Western torn up town and the wilds beyond with marvelous skies and having those LUTS plugged in let conceive of each found shot in much more moody way - totally apropos to the music - while still getting proper exposures. Really well done with those. ETTL that looks good! What a simple but brilliant idea.

@@photojosephI agree; not a replacement for the LIT DUO 1, as phones don’t have dedicated and accurate sensors for those measurements like the LIT DUO 1 has, and because phone cameras are not all the same, thus can give out an inaccurate readings. But this is a great and viable option to use in those instances where you don’t have the LIT DUO 1 on hand (or similar metering device), are in the field scouting for a shoot, run-n-gun content capture, etc. I plan on using both for in different environments / situations.

Hey I love your insights of making a film, thank you! So many things are left unanswered though: Can you show and explain your blocking sketches and storyboards? That would be highly interesting!
