It’s amazing how much set design plays a part for cinematic imaging
@joshrainey39822 ай бұрын
Looks really great! I think your "messy" bounces on the ceiling give an authentic light vs the sometimes contrived, "clean", look when you know they just had 30 sky panels on the ceiling. Impressive to see how it looks with such a modest studio. No doubt someone also did an amazing job with the set pieces.

Scale matters. Compared to other world war movies, this is not even a 10th of the budget of those. So by all means this is a low budget movie.
@TheDocumentarian012 ай бұрын
It's most definitely all relative. For our production crew, low budget is £200-250,000 or about $260-320,000 US. For someone else, it could be as low as £4-5,000, as per Christopher Nolan's first feature, which I believe set him back around $6,000. As long as you're focussing on story and bringing something compelling to the screen, your budget could be £1,000 and I'd happily sit glued to the screen to watch it.
@TheDocumentarian012 ай бұрын
@@kris4637 Perfectly put. If we look at, for example, 1917, and the scale and depth of that film, this would indeed be very low budget.

Your use of a volume wall is executed well here and in a very minimal nature, which makes the production very effective in telling an isolated story. I’m noticing a jib being operated at the beginning of this video - I actually own the same one! it’s a very sturdy piece of equipment.

it's really good, the only thing I can say as a viewer is that the soldiers uniform and body is a little to clean, if they're set up in a trench there should be build up smudge or mud on their body, some of the soldiers uniform is too clean, something like 16:13 there white clothes are too unnatural, also some inconsistencies with the helmets some of them are a little too shiny. But shots like 16:38 are goated, also scenes like 18:34 the actors are like too tall or the trench is not deep enough. Also again their uniforms are too clean. The saturation between the green uniform and the trenches is affecting the shot its too distinct or I don't know I'm not a professional . Still overall it is good and excited for your career. And note the things that I said about can be fix in aftereffects
