InvestEngine do not offer individual stocks Trading212 do not offer a SIPP As for ring fenced funds, you're more likely to juggle elephants than see a platform risk turn sour. And as for cheaper fees, how's the recent Vanguard price spike doing for you...are you liking the fees severely hitting smaller investors much? I'll agree that Freetrade charges a fee I don't want to pay, but for a SIPP, you'll be hard pushed to find anything as cheap. I'm not a Freetrade fan boy at all and the money will get moved into Trading212 in an instant if they announce a SIPP. But this video doesn't represent the facts and has no balance. As an investor who's spent more time in the game, and with a significantly bigger fund total, don't write off Freetrade on this video advice. Use them for low-cost accumulation of stocks inside a SIPP Use InvestEngine for ETFs if that's your approach Use Trading212 for ISA Avoid Vanguard like the plague as their fees are exorbitant, and you can buy their funds cheaper on other platforms. I don't get a cut or kickback for my free information, and it's served me very well for many years. End rant

Ozzy mate. 🧡Ive watched loads of investing youtube channels since 2020 and was like you a person looking at value investing and looking for the next gem. Like you i lost money. But KZbinr also taught me about Bitcoin and MSTR. In 2021 i bought at the peak and DCA into it. Now im up a crazy amount in both MSTR in my ISA so 🥳 tax free gains and never need to sell my bitcoin. Mate forget the nonsense with these risky companies and start buying bitcoin and MSTR. Not financial advice❤
@Cleisthenes60728 күн бұрын
You are going to get crushed with the next collapse comes, I would cash out and take gains in both crypto and especially MSTR now. MSTR moves 3x the movement of bitcoin meaning if bitcoin goes down 33% which it has done many times before MSTR gets wiped out 100%. You have no idea how stupidly risky your portfolio is right now.

Exposure to the UK is very non-ideal. The UK is uniquely shit in that the UK is a no growth economy. Just look at the charts on Tesco and compare it to Walmart. What's better is to figure out cycles. What marks the beginning and end of a business cycle? Which businesses go up in a smooth fashion? Is there any with wild swings that you can in principle time? The answers are: Yes, you can time a recession. You just need to watch the un-inversion of the 10y minus 3m, high yield credit spreads get sky high, and initial jobless claims to rocket. You can also time the bottom of the market. When interest rates are cut to 0%, the Fed is telling you to buy near the money call options on a fast-reacting stock. Cryptocurrency is also predictable. Bitcoin oscillates between the Power Law bands, with bottoms at the CVDD and tops loosely when the Pi Top indicator happens. RIOT stocks are an easy way to play with Bitcoin cycles. The biggest thing, though, is to risk managing better. If you run back what you did in the past, you need to be aggressively looking at the information presented to you and see what you missed. And DON'T MISS IT AGAIN.

Total environment solutions… reminds me of that scene on Wolf of Wall Street… “it’s a cutting edge high tech firm out of the Midwest awaiting imminent patent approval” Consider the incentives; the company who you do this through, do they personally retain any of the shares in these start-ups? And do they have to pay for those shares? And are the value of those shares greater than their fee/subscription incomes? If not I’d suggest your interests are perhaps different to theirs, which is not a great place to be. But like you say, doesn’t matter too much if only playing with beer money...
@OzbourneForeman6 ай бұрын
Ha-ha, I know the scene you're talking about. Some good questions, I will raise them when next speaking to the club. I do know that they place an emphasis on being members of the club, meaning the employees are aligned with the club members. I would imagine that they keep a capital buffer. My thoughts being that they would purchase an amount of shares above the value of the subscription incomes and then distribute them until they are depleted. In this time, the shares might be re-evaluated (by company updates) and then they would distribute shares at the new (likely increased price). But, I'm speculating at this point. That's right, as it's beer money for me, it's not something I'm too worried about. Psychologically, it does stop me from looking for exciting high-growth stocks, which I would hope helps me in my stock market portfolio and sticking to quality companies.

Their advisors (the 'Dragons' of my metaphor) are fully regulated by the FCA. Source: www.vccrowd.com/information/about The club itself is in a unique position in the market, which as far as I am aware doesn't call for FCA regulation. That said, they use a nominee service like most stock brokers to protect you in the event of bankruptcy. On this link, you can see VCCrowd and a few other firms that use this service: www.premiumnominees.com/#our-services With this nominee service, we can also verify their shareholdings. For example, Happy Drinks Group, we can see that VCCrowd (Under the name 'Premium Nominees LTD') is shareholder #33. Source: find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/10843995/filing-history/MzQxMjc3ODk1OGFkaXF6a2N4/document?format=pdf&download=0 The general manager of VCCrowd is very approachable and so I plan to record an interview with him in the coming months. I'll ask some tough questions on regulations, risks and any potential red flags. He also runs a weekly webinar for club members, so if you have any questions you can ask him then. www.vccrowd.com/information/webinars I hope this helps. That's right Stewart, my pension is invested in the S&P 500 and my main portfolio contains a majority of quality large cap companies. The private equity venture is a chance at high growth at a very small overall percentage of my total investments.

@@stewartmclean625 That's a good suggestion for someone looking for some higher growth in their portfolio. Personally, I'm looking for pre-IPO growth, which is further along on the risk to reward scale. Also, private equity investing is more tax-advantaged for me. I hope that clears things up.

Oz be very very careful. I know next to nothing about private equity but I can identify a number of undesirable traits when investing in it. It maybe useful to reflect on Ben Grahams teachings when he talks about speculation and the need for it to be kept undercontrol by limiting its use to an absolute minimum. All the best Andy
