Those buttons are totally gorgeous Christine, funny enough I was thinking of trying soemthing like that to finish off my painted jacket, so thank you for the inspiration and all the helpful tips, they look so sweet on the cards as well. What beautiful pieces you found, and I love that all these years after they were made, you're still taking the time to appreciate the work and artistry, wouldn't it be fab to think that someone might be admiring our handiwork in the same way, maybe at the turn of the next century! :)

Another addictive craft and they make a super gift - I’ve actually been adding these to a happy mail to send to two friends. And wouldn’t it be fun looking down from a big stitchy studio in the sky and seeing people valuing our creations. Hope you’re doing ok my friend, I’m keeping you in my thoughts xx

Hi Christine, these buttons and button cards are so sweet! I especially liked the ones with doily on them. I have 1 small piece of liberty fabric that it took me about a year to find that I've kind of been hoarding that will look great on a button and card like this. I'm gonna have to go through the family buttons and find some shank buttons that will look good with it. We could hear the cicadas, I think that I would lose my sanity if we got them every year. 😂 I'm thankful that we get quite a few years in between visits. Have a great weekend! TFS 😊

@kimberleymaloy17286 күн бұрын
@createandcraftwithchristine I don't know if they are louder, but they drown out all other noises during the day. At night I guess they sleep.😂

Yes, I can hear the cicadas! We don't have them here in the NW but they are in the Midwest and South. There's a variety that only comes out of the ground every 13 years, and not be outdone, another type of cicada comes out only every 17 years. Here we have huge moths that only come around every 20 years or so. When those moths (with a wing span of up to 3 inches) do start flying, they can cover EVERYTHING from buildings to cars to people - don't stand still too long! (I've never seen a scone carrier before!)
@createandcraftwithchristine3 күн бұрын
Hi Joy - it sounds like you have quite the plagues! I’m not sure how I’d go with those moths! Stay safe and stay cocooned in your family and crafting 💙🧵🪡 cheers, Christine

Buttons are so cute, love the cards you made to store them on too. Himmm wonder if I can make using normal button? Might have a little look see through my button jars I think I have some metal ones that don’t look the best. Aww the last one the scone carrier so cool never seen this before so going to look this up, yes would be lovely to sit on your sewing table with bits and bobs in. Aww the dancing lady’s such beautiful work gosh that was a rather fabulous $3 spent. Love this yes very informative I think my favourite is the lovely lace buttons but do love the little flowers too, such a great watch. Was meant to be painting but um will be supper busy you distracted me, lol such a fabulous fun distraction too. Thank you.

Those are such sweet and creative ideas for scraps of fabric. They really highlight the patterns on the buttons. The crochet additions are very attractive. I wonder if they can be spot dyed? I keep wondering how the Suffolk puffs would look if they were still a part of a sheet of fabric? I love the Lilly embroidery on those doilies. Beautiful finds

Thank you so much for your inspiration -I'm new to sewing and I love your enthusiasm and the way you make me think I could do this! ❤ Sorry for a dim question but would this work for any shank buttons or do they have to be ones that are already covered with fabric? Thank you
@PennyEdgington20 күн бұрын
Another question if you don't mind - how do you know what size circle to cut ... How much bigger than the button does it need to be? (I don't have a Sussex puff maker). Thank you
@createandcraftwithchristine14 күн бұрын
Hi Penny - I’m so happy you are enjoying my videos. You can use any shank button or even flat ones of you can’t find shank ones - they just be a little harder to stitch onto your finished piece. In terms of size have an experiment but the yoyo needs to probably almost be double the size of the button.
