@@ScorchedEarthView I agree. Everyone says “well no one is going to grab your wrist, blah”.. well if the opponent was going to draw a sword, suddenly you might need to control their wrists. the movements make so much more sense when you’re grappling over a weapon.

@@83457 it’s in the syllabus, we drill it constantly. It exists in other martial arts and isn’t unique to aikido. Judo, jujutsu, BJJ, catch wrestling, it’s known as Waki Gatame or the armpit armbar. There’s several armlocks in aikido, btw

The people who always talks bad about AIKIDO are the people that don't know how to use it cause it's to difficult for them to learn it.. They are slow learners..
@KuzushiKev6 күн бұрын
@@JayGarcia-ph2xc if they’re talking about the training method of MOST* aikido schools, being unrealistic then yes.. there’s an argument for it. But if the argument is simply “the techniques don’t work” then it couldn’t be further from the truth. The techniques are timeless. What makes the difference is whether or not the person can apply it in a modern setting.

Most people don't appreciate aikido because aikido is hard to learn and they don't understand the principle behind it. It's a passive martial arts

That frontkick looks awful. Bring the knee to your chest before extending your foot for the contact and retract the leg along the same path. If you want to practice good technique you can place a chair between the bag and yourself, with it's back turned to you and then try to kick the bag without touching the chair

Two general mistakes. What you call "Kaiten Nage" is the beginning (entrance) of a potential Kaiten Nage, but is not finished and ends in Ude Garami, it is not a Nage (throw) at all, but a pin. What you call "Gokkyo", is a variation of Nikkyo. Gokyo is a completely different technique. So the Kote Gaeshi - Gokkyo Pin, is either simlpy a Kote Gaeshi with a default/standard pin, or a Kote Gashi with a Nikkyo Pin. However great work. If you want I pinpoint the minutes and find some example videos.

So in Aikikai style, for example in technique like shomen uchi irimi nage, we have to move off line the attack, to get behind uke, and blend with the attack, but that's mean we move too early, and uke can retract the attack or tracking us right? Thats why we need to deflect first, especially if the attack is honest right? Please explain to me🙏
@KuzushiKevАй бұрын
@@rifki_kus7991 unless you are faster than the uke, it is very difficult to move your body out of the way of a fast slash. It’s possible but difficult. Hand deflections are much easier and more reliable, because even if the uke is faster than me.. I can beat them by using my hands properly
