I dislike it when youtubers say only 2 ingredients, but then it turns out to be 5-10 or more products for the recipe. It’s either a clickbait title or these two people are bad at math. The recipe is tofu, soy milk, ginger, rock sugar, gelatin, and water = 6 ingredients!

Just curious, what is the purpose of straining the ginger juice if you are adding in minced ginger? Wouldn’t it make sense to simply add a portion of the unstrained ginger juice and withhold some of the minced ginger?

I appreciate this video.👍 I'm about to do a "pet friendly" Sous Vide version, and was checking out a few and doing a mix and match of recipes. My pet friendly version is going to be 2 cans of frozen pineapple juice and enough unfrozen apple juice to have the 16# pounder submerged in an oven roasting bag and tied up tight. I have a good vacuum sealer, but there is no way that I'm going to be able to vacuum seal a 16# bird. I actually Sous Vide a 22# frozen solid Butterball Turkey in the shrink wrapped plastic one year and it turned out fantastic!! 👌🎃🎃🐓🍗

The best searing tool is a flame burner, like a blowlamp, not a steak pan since you want the searing process to be fast otherwise it toughens the meat. This is especially so if you have pre-cooked your meat and put it in the refrigerator before use when the searing process needs to warm it but not cook it. A radio thermometer is a good idea since it can be in the meat in the bag and ensure the correct temperature is reached. For steak the cooking time in the Sus is critical since there is a relation between time and the degree of rareness of the meat that differs by temperature reached.

New to Anova. After my second Joule quit in the middle of a cook without warning (ruining a $60 roast) I bought an Anova pro. Is there a way to have the app notify me if the circulator stops working after it has been set? Also looking for a rubber outer blanket for the Anova tub to save energy.

Looks good. I think it'll go great with yellow rice and pigeon peas. Something that can be added as well would be corn bread. It can be Jiffy brand or cooked in a skillet. :->
