Good review. I really dont get why they dont have paypal as an option for the founders club. It is just credit card. Same with an ingame workout editor. Should be really easy to implement. I really enjoy the pacemakers and racing. The only downside for me are the graphics. The rest is amazingly good. Especially considering the fact, that just one dude programmed this.

I did think twice about downloading the app when I realised it was a UAE company,I have yet to use it though.You are correct,we should be aware of sportswashing,it seems to be getting bigger and bigger. One example is the English Premier League allowing the Saudi Regime to purchase Newcastle United FC. There were some rumblings in Parliament about this,but the UK government supplies the Saudi regime with weapons and the use of RAF engineers to maintain their airforce whilst the Saudis bomb Yemen. Our government then sends aid to Yemen. Go figure! My thoughts are there will be many decent people working at MyWoosh in order to earn a living. The world is a crazy place with many contradictions and different regimes working together to benefit themselves,sometimes justified,sometimes not. It’s the way the world has always worked ,unfortunately.

good video homie. from your boy in Athens, I think the most important one is to ride with confidence, ride the lane, don't just sit as tight to the curb as you can. and if you ride with confidence you ride predictably which will only help drivers know what you are trying to do. Other than that i guess all your points are valid if you aren't confident. Never used a radar because I don't see the need but again, for those that do and it helps them, awesome. for sure lights, even though i only run mine in low light and at night, but i'll dispute the bright clothing one until the bogan gives you space on the road, if a driver can't see a cyclist they should hand in their licence, theoretically based on this argument pedestrians should need to don a neon vest to cross the road, it makes no sense to me, if thats a valid reasoning i want all cars to have a neon speed stripe from hood to trunk too. But you know me, i'm here being a troll ;)

Nice one. I use two rear lights - one flashing (magene radar taillight) & one steady (clips on to jersey). The flashing light draws attention, the steady light "'clarifies" my position on the road (in theory).
@burgess_and_his_bike
@burgess_and_his_bike Ай бұрын
Yep. The flashing light is also hard to tell depth with so cars can struggle to see how far ahead you are so a solid light helps there.

I spoke to come cops (here in Queensland) on one occasion after a completely unnecessary close pass while exiting a small roundabout. The cops confirmed that without video or photo evidence of an incident there's not much they can do as it's your word against the driver. They'll visit them and ask for the driver's side of the story if you complain loudly, but unless the driver says or does something stupid to incriminate themselves or offend the cop nothing's going to happen other than maaaaaybe a warning. I do resent the idea that I should have to spend hindreds of dollars on a camera so the cops can identify the arsehole who killed me. But I guess it's like any form of insurance. You begrudgingly pay for it and hope you never need to rely on it.

I recently bought the Knog Mid Cobber front and rear lights to add to my small, but bright flashers front and rear. Knog is a bit pricey, but these babies provide 330deg arc of light so you can be seen from the side, eg, intersections and during an overtake, as well as directly in front and behind.

From another burgo on a bike, I believe the dark clothing is one of the biggest issues with visibility now days. A small front/rear light doesn't cut it when it is dark. Why did the industry think a black jersey would be ok at night???
@burgess_and_his_bike
@burgess_and_his_bike Ай бұрын
I think the industry follows the market and it is more fashionable to have less vibrant colours at the moment. In the 80s you’d see cyclists a k away!
@jasonroberts9383
@jasonroberts9383 Ай бұрын
This would have to be the most common misconception and, to be frank, just plain without thought. You honestly believe the entire cycling industry hasn’t worked out that visibility is important……seriously?!?! The reason why black is the most common colour for cycling clothing is because it is scientifically proven that brighter colours make no difference at all. It’s just nonsense to suggest otherwise and giving a false sense of security. What does make you visible at night is reflective panels and strips, and they are most visible on black clothing. Reflectors will light up a dark road at night, not bright colours. Same applies to cyclists.

Firstly, thanks for putting the time into the review. You've nailed a lot of key points. I am a Rouvy user and have picked the platform over Zwift and stuck with it. When I first started, I did find it hard to find races or group rides with enough riders to make it engaging. Obviously, some people do workouts, but also there are SO MANY routes that I believe a lot of the users are spread out amongst those routes. If you want to "just ride", you'll likely find a lot of people on the challenge routes, and the route panel shows the number of riders currently on a route (which may help you decide). I did find that most people organize their rides OUTSIDE the Rouvy platform; either with IRL groups than plan rides in the off-season, or with Rouvy groups like GRC and Muckers (who responded here)... and ROuvy has enrolled these groups to label their Races as "Official". This said, once you find a group, there's usually a regular cadence or schedule. Otherwise, "Official" races occur on a schedule, and I learned that the most active users seem to be on European time, and you're most likely to get good turnout in the off-season. Also, it is not a racing platform; i.e., there are no rankings or seasons, etc. For me, I think this is fine... it's competitive enough once you find a group to keep it interesting and fun... people take it seriously... but not too seriously.
