I use monks mostly on low econ ground. Sure they need 1000g initial investment to go but you only want to build ONLY if you are going to kill Lords. Other that that I'm sticking to horse Archer and xbows

new demo has come out for stronghold crusader definitive, and they added 8 new units and 4 new AI. i still hope UCP works and is supported but i guess we will have to see.

I did this mission on non ucp version and had a not so hard time. i only used 5 apple orchards which surprisingly is a pretty good food source and economy since its pretty fast when its right next to the granary. 1 hops farm and 2 breweries sustained my taverns the entire game. never placed anything else other than curches, the market and hovels up the hill since the slopes slows people down. 2 stone quarries for tower and wall repairs and 2 iron for slow economy. I had 3 towers by the iron and stone and filled it with crosbow men and balistas (i also forgot shields exist). added tall walls by the blue caliph to distract the catapults and guide the ai to only go to the front entrance which is next to the towers. you dont need the walls to get to the edge of the map, just enough to guide ai to the front door. spread out a groups of slingers to guard the economy buildings and stop slaves from burning everything. short walls, cause theyre cheaper, covering the towers then up to the pond up north to stop lionheart from flanking there. adding a gate up there to have hunters and woodcutters work when lionheart waves are over. The walls placements are IMPORTANT. they guide the ai and give you a lot more land to work with. made 4-6 crossbow and 2-3 bow industries. which sustained me for quite a long while since archers in the keep are pretty good against slaves and horse archers. wall 2 trebuchets, close by the pesant gathering to harass blue caliph, always targetting his granary and armoury to make him poor. use balistas and priorities fire balistas to stop those annoying shits from killing crossbowmen or catapults from lionheart attacking the towers. replace any balistas the get destroyed IMMIDIETLY. keep replacing and adding walls to not have a hard time against catapults. slowly build up an army of pikemen, crossbowmen, and catapults. then kill them one by one. done. was alot easier mission than expected to be honest. thought it would be harder due to the infamy. can't handle 3 wolves with computer advantage though.
