More sophisticated morale bonuses: - Regular good things gives +/- 25 % attack is fine as is. - Having multiple types of food gives an hp buff, scaling with number of food types up to (start at 5% at 2 types, all types gives +20%). - Having above neutral popularity makes Lord stronger (scales with amount of extra popularity). Economy: - Reliable meat production. (pig/sheep/chicken/cow farms). - Apothecaries heal. Max also religion lets religious units heal others. - Reworked dairy farms: similar production chain setup as bread, with similar output. Ex. Build ranch, spawns 5 cows and milks each one, fermenter takes milk and makes cheese. Mounts: - Stables either take less space or hold more horses (like 10 or so). Increase cost as a counter balance if needed. - Give Lord a horse. - Animals count as population: Ex. Horses and meat producing animals also have a food cost; the more you have the more they eat. Toggle to eat only grass (no rations), add wheat (basic rations), add fruit and wheat (advanced rations). Food animals give more meat for better feed, and horses run faster. Production: - Combine leather and metal armor onto one building. Toggle between leather and metal armor production. - Keeps can recruit standard barracks units into stronger versions: Ex1. Euro lords can recruit a more durable knights with extra metal armor, can recruit rangers for an extra bow (archer rate of fire, but better vs armor), can give swordsmen a pike to remove damage penalty vs other swordsmen/knights. EX2. Arab lords can give slaves a bow for a ranged attack (slinger damage/fire rate but archer range), can give assassins another sword to further increase dps, can give Arabian swordmen a spear to let them dig moats. Siege/Defense - Trebs can pack and move. - AI know how to use portable shields. - Nerf catapult range from 70 to 60. Still outrange fire ballista and archers on walls but masses catapults can now be countered by mangonels (kinda). - Wall durability scaling: if the wall is as thick as its height, give it 35% damage reduction vs siege weapons. If its twice as thick as it is high give it 95% damage reduction vs siege weapons (make low walls relevant). - Tunnelers can dig under walls and make an exit on the other side to bypass wall. Countered by moats, big towers/gatehouse.

Why not just use trebs to take down the mangonel towers from over the sea and put xbows on the low wall with a siege tower? Just walk along the low wall with a large xbow/shield ball to clear a section of the castle and hold. Then you can just clear the moat and take the nest wall with a siege tower again to put troops in the main castle. Committing to catapults just seemed needlessly painful.

Here's the strat: - Get max ale bonus, buy hops if you really need to - Set half or no rations based on how much farmland you have available, sell spare food - Get +5 positive fear factor - Raise taxes -4 at least 8-12 ideally, adding church and cathedral bonus also helps - Max population as much as possible, the more the better, spam woodcutters & maybe water pots if necessary - get wealthy and spam high morale horse archers as your woodcutter army floods the map (better than most castles I tell you) - ???? - profit

Making weapens is trash maybe with fear facter but id rather sell my raw meterials and buy bows pikes and arabian swordsman Cant build up a good army unless u have 10 plus weapons shops

i usually beat wolf by riding archers around his castle until the walls are empty and then sending assasins on the gates then a swarm of Monks just bulldozes as verry often his ai never finishes his moats for me

you can combine swordsmen with Pikemen and it can be so powerful against anything monks cannot went against them and arrows and bolts can't Penetrate their armors. And you can combine horse archers with shield.

Ale is better than food but when i see your playthrough in crusader trail you always use food. Not only that, other youtuber playing stronghold always use food. They start make ale only when defense already set up and economy is good

My old playthrough yes, I was trying to play the way the devs intended Nowadays though I either stay on low population and go for a few apple farms or I'd ignore food and replace it with ale, I might resume the food consumption to raise taxes later on! Whatever I do though, do as I say not as I do, I do a lot of random stuff depending on my mood

You can build masonry station and enemy ballista will put it on fire. Like that you can burn about 80 % of enemy troops

S: Pikemen - Metal armor, can dig moats, breaks wall faster than anyone but monks; literally unstoppable. Stands in the front to justify that armor. Lord gave him a noddle for a weapon - stayed loyal anyway. Maceman - Knows he has less armor than swordsmen, still charges in faster. Reckless speed outdoes assassin sneakiness. Digs moats, crushes walls, too fast for siege and ranged units. A: Assassins - Hits as hard as a knight, damage cant be reduced, above the concept of walls, is everywhere and nowhere. Desert boi - water is a mystical force. Crossbowman - If siege wasnt in the game, then this units name would be the title. Ranged, but wills all the fights. Horse Archer - Owns the open battle field. Master of the hardest form of combat. Fastest fire rate of archers - can kill pikemen as fast as xbowmen. Monk - Faster wall smasher. Fights for glory, not coin. Thinks nothing of damage reduction. Power belly. Arrow fodder, since he's slow. Loses many 1v1, but wins all melee in cost. Arabian Archer - Drip. Fire rate makes him a credible threat to macemen. No armor - still tanks an extra xbow hit. Strongest melee of all ranged units. B: Firethrower- Inverse of xbow; loses to all ranged, but kills all melee with fire. Slinger - Fastest fire rate of any ranged unit. Kills the lord fastest at range. Second to xbows vs swordsmen/knights. Short range and made of paper, so he loses to archers. Engineer - Can carry an entire portable shield. Clearly shredded under the apron. Cant fight, which is a problem. C: Swordsman - Needs his little boy shield to take more arrows than a pikeman, takes less than half xbow hits. Beats anyone in 1v1 - never gets there. Cant get his feet wet. Slower than maceman to break walls. Knight - Has a horse to run away from swordsmen. Same dps as an assassins, but it gets reduced. Scared of the ground, cant get on walls or keeps. Never had a bath - moats are devil magic. Archer - Glorified hunter, tickles metal armor. Will lose all his walls and towers before he kills his enemies. At least hes fast and cheap. Oil Pot engineer - Not smart enough to stock up pots near his post. Has to run like a nerd after every payload. Knows how to miss with a giant ball of fire. Tunneller - Redundant and weak, but at least he'll give his life to the cause. Can one-shot turrets so there's that. D: Slave - Can actually lose to certain peasants. Just a peasant that you directly control. Spearmen - His weapon is worth more than his life. Glorified moat digger. Arabian swordman - Barely takes more arrows than pikemen, barely takes more xbows bolts than macemen, is slower than both, cant touch moats, slowest melee. Best at nothing, permanent second place. Ladderman - A spearman can tip over his ladder and he just goes home to cry about it.

I got my hands on a fan made data sheet. Apparently assassins and knights have the same dps at 3200, with the major difference being total hp (15000 assassin, 20000 knight) and missile resistance . The data sheet also showed that assassins ignore melee resistance - so assassins and knights do the same damage to each other, with the difference being knights having 33% more hp. Its like the opposite of macemen - they have the same hp/durability stats as assassins, but they deal 1/3 of their damage to knights and euro swordsmen.

Best way: 1. Place your keep 2.Place 1 wall next to it 3. Put portable shields on the keep, as much as you can 3.Send up as many archer on the keep as you want, by placing them on that single wall square 4. Wait the enemy to leave the server an enjoy the way you ruined others game...
