Did anyone notice that their was a disc ball with stars on it above Carrie and Tommy while they were dancing. Before Carrie walked out of the gym she look back at the disco ball and caused it to drop to the floor.

Carrie was the only girl at the prom who had on a beautiful and sexy outfit. I wonder if anyone noticed that Carrie had on a sexy see thru pink shawl around her that matched her dress. All of the other girls at the prom had on the ugliest dresses.

Fun fact: The REAL Frank Abignale Jr. apparently went to Iona Prep in New Rochelle. I'm kicking myself. I went to Iona College, and they had an Office of Student Success (as a student struggling during my time at Iona) lead by a Brother Devlin - who apparently taught at Iona Prep during the mid 60s. I never did get to ask him if he ever heard about, or interacted with, Abignale.

20:38 If a missile struck an airplane carrying a nuclear bomb chances are nothing much would happen. Nuclear wise. In order for the nuclear bomb to explode nuclearily a group of normal explosives must go off in a very precise manner. So there won't be a nuclear explosion. Now the bomb can be physically destroyed and the radioactive material inside will come raining down on whoever's below it. Very bad but not a nuclear explosion.

I bet that ditch on the road right of way gets mowed like 6 times a summer and there’s no way they wouldn’t inspect a rotten leather satchel. So probably some groundskeeper that works for the highway department retired early and suddenly had a new boat.

Should read up on the iran-contra affair to see the sort of things the US will do under the umbrella of the 'war on drugs'. It's just another industry, its why despite overwhelming public support for legalization of weed, it never seems to happen. It's become too profitable to keep in this legal gray area.

It’s funny… I’d heard people say Leo was a great actor, but I didn’t get why until I saw this movie. I’d never seen any of Leo’s movies until Catch Me If You Can.

One deleted scene had an alternative ending: a pie fight in the war room among the president and generals. There exists only still pictures of that footage.

If only that old lady who tried to protect Max's wife and toddler son possessed a lighter AR-15 with a magazine holding at least 30 bullets instead of a heavy shotgun which only fires two bullets before reloading. Then Mad Max would have had a happy ending. :)

If you watch 2001: A Space Odyssey, you'll see why people thought Kubrick staged the moon landing. A Clockwork Orange is a good one too, but you have to brush up on your British slang lol.

I was 19 when this movie came out. Add to it Kraftwerk; Tangerine Dream; The Cure; punk music and The Second British Invasion, aka New Wave; Paul Mitchell products; Djarum clove cigarettes; emergent androgyny in society; the development of the DX-7 keyboard; improvements in cannabis flower; LOTS of drinking in "The Go-Go Eighties"; and the drug Ecstasy, and you'll see The Single Seed of the Emo movement. This is where Goth came from; the re-visitation of the Vampire trope; ergonomics and biomechanical visions; and even a call-back to the decadence of the 1920's. The German film Metropolis is the archetype for all of this, and the wedding of The Occult and Science in that film are central to it, as are the de-humanization of humanity. Look at the world today: Mark Twain said, "History doesn't repeat itself, but it sure does rhyme." Also, Roy referred to Tyrell as his "creator." The Replicants are designed...DESIGNED. Don't think in the direction of The Terminator.

the ending is so powerful as you said imagine living in that reality and more so imagine growing up in it. Playing soccer/football hear gunfire near by pause for a moment look around to be sure no one is sooting at them then go right back to the game like nothing happened.

what I love about this movie is that, even if a lot of scenes are not serious, it treats itself with all the seriousness possible. And that makes it much better. Even the racoon and hotdog-fingers universes, where the storylines where kinda stupid, they really respect the story and try to solve the conflicts there, like it was the most serious thing that exists.

During the train wreck scene (they wrecked a real train, it's still there in North Carolina where they filmed that scene), Harrison Ford injured his knee and would need surgery. However, they were on a tight filming schedule so he didn't have the surgery until after filming was completed. If you look closely, you'll notice he walked with a limp. They filmed the parade scene at the actual Saint Patrick's Day parade in Chicago. They got permission to walk with the Plumber's union. They were filming for several minutes until anyone noticed. They were writing the script almost on the fly. Several scenes were ad-libbed, including most of the banter between the U.S. Marshalls.

Not on movie topic, but I will always remember the first Vietnamese family I met. They migrated around War time and opened a pizza shop. Awesome pizza and even better people. The main guy, Tom, took the time to get to know all of his customers, and even if you didn’t come in for years, he’d still recognize you and pick up right where conversation left off years ago. Absolutely one of the greatest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
