Hey Dave. Thank you very much. I have been trying to work out this test grid watching other's, totally confusing. Now up on finding your video its total understanding. Why the others carry on is beside me. But that's the way they are. Got my test grids up & running, working a treat. So thank you once again. Be watching your other videos as well. Take care. Cheers Brad.

Hi David, thanks for posting this video - I just bought one of these today and I couldnt find any videos either!. I was wondering - the plastic bag containing the metal piece and 4 socket screws in it - do you know what that is for and where it is meant to go on the compressor? I've had a look through the entire manual and can't find a reference to it so I'm a bit stumped. Do you know?? Thanks again for posting!

Had a go today, but have no idea which direction is tightening and which is loosening or each wheel when using the service hole. Also they seemed to not want to turn to be honest! Might take the wheels off and check.

Goodness there is so much getting up and down, back and forth, one side to the other! Probably best on a car because on a camper you couldn’t walk around fixing it up you would need to move ladders constantly. Not only that but that bag looks tights as, certainly no room to spare there at all. No wonder I had issues closing mine as Many people say it needs a mattress topper but with such a small bag there would be no room. I must say with mine I find getting the bag on by myself a right pain as it’s hard to throw over when trying to hold onto a camper trailer- so I guess this rtt is best for low transport (trailers or cars that r high enough to reach from ground level) other wise there is way too much stuffing around. Great tent once it’s up but certainly a mission to pack up especially with all the tie downs etc. in this video there was not too much trouble with the door cover poles, I have found them to be a pain as if you don’t Velcro them back they disrupt the fold over then you have to try to go side to side to push it in and unless your car or trailer has a wrap around step this means up and down the portable ladder again, which may not bother some people but I counted I had to go up and down during pack up 12 times- too annoying for me!

I just had a cheap ebay unit. It is a 5kw. Unfortunately I damaged it on the Oodnadatta track (my fault) so have got a replacement unit in the shed ready to be fitted. Going to put a 2kw unit in as 5 is too hot.

Thanks Dave. Main reason for watching this was to see what size bearings the Austrack uses and happy to see they are heavy duty and not the cheap trailer bearings some big name van companies are using. These should be standard!

Yes they are certainly time consuming. I’d guess it took me 8 hours over 2 days to get mine in. I was a bit pedantic though. I made up harness extensions and false floors to cover it.

Thanks mate! A question on putting the cap back on .... did you fill up any of the cap with grease before tapping it back down? (as I notice there was grease in the cap and on the "castle nut" when you took it off). Cheers
@davidhall9932
@davidhall9932 Жыл бұрын
No need to put grease in the cap. The grease in there is just grease that has worked its way out of the hub through the bearings. Just put it on dry.

There are several gaskets that can fail inside diesel heater ( especially chinese ones) and that will make it blow hot air with mixed in co2 inside living space. I would not skip a co2 detector in a van thats just dumb...
@monkeyknut8339
@monkeyknut8339 Жыл бұрын
A diesel heater fitted in a living area should always have a CO alarm/detector in the same space. Your explanation about how they work is great but things like gaskets, seals, exhausts etc can and do fail. I worked with room sealed gas appliances for 40 years and can guarantee they're not infallible and accidents and/or fatalities can happen. Diesel heaters are no different. Even if the heater is mounted externally there's still the possibility of a failure which might lead to CO entering the living/heated space. Please Aways Have A CO Alarm/Detector In Any Living Space Heated By Fossil Fuels.
@davidhall9932
@davidhall9932 Жыл бұрын
The question being answered in the video is do they produce CO2 gas this requiring a detector. If running as they should, you do not need one. However you will note at the end of the video I have also said detectors are a great idea and good to have. The video was made to answer the question a few people asked about their diesel heaters producing CO2 and needing a detector. They don’t produce CO2 (inside the cabin) and that is the question answered. I’ve not said don’t get a detector, just that you don’t need one for diesel heater.
