Love how old mate thinks it’s the only spot on the whole racecourse that needed whipper snipping in the drizzling rain while your trying to do a video haha. Thanks for the video, appreciate your time and effort. Not many out there like it.

Goodness there is so much getting up and down, back and forth, one side to the other! Probably best on a car because on a camper you couldn’t walk around fixing it up you would need to move ladders constantly. Not only that but that bag looks tights as, certainly no room to spare there at all. No wonder I had issues closing mine as Many people say it needs a mattress topper but with such a small bag there would be no room. I must say with mine I find getting the bag on by myself a right pain as it’s hard to throw over when trying to hold onto a camper trailer- so I guess this rtt is best for low transport (trailers or cars that r high enough to reach from ground level) other wise there is way too much stuffing around. Great tent once it’s up but certainly a mission to pack up especially with all the tie downs etc. in this video there was not too much trouble with the door cover poles, I have found them to be a pain as if you don’t Velcro them back they disrupt the fold over then you have to try to go side to side to push it in and unless your car or trailer has a wrap around step this means up and down the portable ladder again, which may not bother some people but I counted I had to go up and down during pack up 12 times- too annoying for me!

Hi David , great honest review thank you for your time and effort doing it, your sigh at 20.00 summed it up for me, I think you would need another few days away to get over the rooting around with this tent, think I’ll look for another alternative, cheers mate

It's actually pretty simple to set up when you're not trying to show how to set it up. I can set it up in about 5 minutes and another five to have the storm flaps out. The annexe soaks up the time but all in all it's pretty easy. Pack up takes a little longer but not much.

Hi Ren. Yes it is a bit of stuffing around, but the video was made when we had just purchased it so I was a bit over it. We had just downsized from a 19 foot caravan - hence the sigh. It now only takes about 5 minutes to have it set up, packing up takes a little longer. If you put the annexe up it is a pain and I would hate to be doing that daily. The tent though is pretty good. No substitute for a good van though.

Hi David, thanks for this video. Mate what brand / model racks are you running? Also any issues with it moving during driving since you've had it?
@davidhall99323 жыл бұрын
Hi Terrence, no issues with it moving at all. I am using a cheap Kings Flat Rack. It wasn't very dear but has done the job just fine.

Hows the weight on your roof, did it exceed the limit ?

Good video of the tent, your son was a great cameraman. I am curious to hear if you have any experience with this in various weather types? I suspect that a second person would make a big difference in the setup and pack up.

We have had the tent for a while now and to be honest, I can set it up in about 5 minutes. Without annexe it is up and running in about ten with storm flaps out and ready to go. Setting everything else up takes a little time.

Great video - thanks for that. Can you leave bedding set up in the tent when packing it down?
@davidhall99322 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. We had an eggshell mattress topper and would also leave our sleeping bags or doonas up there. No pillows though as it wouldn’t close with that much in it.

Fantastic video mate, checking out and preparing to purchase my first rooftop, if you went again would you have gone with this unit?
@davidhall99322 жыл бұрын
Yes we would. We have sold it now and upgraded to a hybrid caravan. It served the purpose we wanted it for though. We took it to Cape York and back this year and it performed faultlessly.

Hi David great vid. Looking at getting on of these for my trailer. Would you recommend it? How do you find it after 1 year.
@davidhall99323 жыл бұрын
Hi Ben. They are a pretty good tent. That said, it is our second one, the first leaked like a sieve. The new one is built much better though so it is all good. I think the first must have been a Friday arvo one. Yes, I would recommend it, I am going to do a "one year on" video soon to give updates on what I have found we use all the time and a few things we do with it that they might not tell in the flyers. I am about to add a Darch 270 Eclipse awning to the package as well so that will be good. Setup only takes us about 10 - 15 minutes with me doing the outside and my 12 year old son doing the inside stuff so it is pretty quick. Pack up of the actual tent takes a little longer, if we were really pushed and just threw everything in the car without care, we could do it in 20 minutes. A standard pack down is about 30 minutes. I'll post a video soon so keep an eye out.
