This is kind of like a country version of R&B. A lot of soft rock in the 70s like this. A whole lot. Young kids these days think all rock is guys with long hair screaming, but not much of that in the 70s. Bread / David Gates, America, Steve Miller Band, the Eagles, just so many.

My big sister used to play her Bread’s Greatest Hits album in our shared room at night and they were the best sweetest harmonies to fall asleep to. I was just a kid then so I didn’t always catch all the romantic subtext but I knew all the words to all their songs and grew up loving this group.

I started to feel a sense of deja vu reading your comment, except for falling asleep to their music. My older sister also had albums by Chicago and Grass Roots. Then she became a Neil Diamond fan and I didn’t have to buy any of his albums until she went to college. I also had to buy a copy of The Beatles’ Abbey Road album when my brother left home.

@@terri2494 That’s crazy ha, I was a massive Neil Diamond fan starting from age 13 and had all his albums (I was born in 1962) and though I was only 7 when Abbey Road came out I was instantly obsessed with that album and stole the record from my big brother ha! He’s 9 years older than me so he was 16 then and my sister was 14. I was too young of course to understand all the meaning of all the lyrics on that Beatles album but I used to stand on my bed like it was a stage holding my hairbrush and belting out Oh Darling! along with the album with all the passion in my 7 year old soul. I will be 62 this month and that is still my fave Beatles album, over the decades I have gone through various vinyl records, audiocassette tapes, and cds of that album ha. Now I just stream it a lot. I also loved Three Dog Night, Bread, CCR, so many great late ‘60s into the ‘70s bands,then I loved The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Lynyrd Skynyrd and so so many other fantastic 70s bands.
