Those control arms looks a lot like the old DJM setup.... I still have a couple sets of the DJM arms for Dakotas.... Planning to run them on my 93, and my 02. Nice job documenting how to upgrade the brakes on these old rigs.

They still haven't added this to the website. I wonder if they will make a rear axle set for the 03/04 that will have the 5x4.5 set up? That would be a really nice way to go 5 lug and upgrade in one move.
@ThatTurboDakota21 күн бұрын
I’m not sure if they will be normal a production part so they may not add them. As far as rears go, probably not. No market for it and if your racing the truck a lot that 9.25 rear needs to go. C clip axles aren’t track friendly

What is your total ignition timing? May be throwing some power away through that. I know different dynos show different results but mine made 253 NA whp on a trailer dyno in my d150 with a cam smaller than yours its a 214/218 and i had mine running at 34 total but mine had an dual plane airgap intake and carburator at the time. Engine masters did an intake shoutout and said the engine made peak power at 28 degrees. Just my 2 cents. Sweet build though love the content!

Your truck is one of My favorite builds out there. Please keep the content coming! Also I think people are genuinely interested in the stock bottom end stuff more than the built engine stuff. Just food for thought. I would be very interested to see let's say a slightly beefed up but otherwise stock bottom in build and see where the limits of the block start coming into play. Clean azz R/T.... God I haven't seen one of those in forever. My old buddy used to have both a Dakota R/T and a Durango R/T, both were black with the polished/chrome stock wheels and the Durango had a Kenne Bell screwcharger on it.... God that was years ago, wonder if he still has them lol. I remember he used the Dakota as his "work truck" (he was a mechanic, but also a fab guy and welder, so he built an in-bed metal tool box for a bunch of gear and a welder that fit below the rails so he could run a soft tonneau cover and nobody would know), the Durango was his regular "daily", I remember that KB on it, and I know it had like Eibach lowering springs and Bilsteins along with shortie headers and a Flowmaster catback.... nice clean SUV.... always dug the style of those 2nd Gen Dakotas/1st Gen Durangos.... even though I was an S10/S15/Sonoma/Blazer/Jimmy/Bravada/Syclone/Typhoon guy 😅 Now after the rambling....any thoughts on doing a Gen3 Hemi swap? Tons of cheap used 5.7, 6.1 SRT, 6.2 'Cat, 6.4/392 SRT, 6.4 HD, and 426ci Hemi's available for the picking.... and I know they're like the LS and Coyotes and absolutely _love_ some boost.... shame you're not building a "street truck", I'd suggest a 6.1 or 6.4 SRT Hemi along with the Durango AWD and a T56 Magnum (or auto 😥) along with 10-15lbs of boost and some good suspension and chassis bracing, thing could be a straight ripper 😅
