It all makes perfect sense. Great. But the real question is; WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT TO FIX THIS CRAP?

But Since Ultra automatically caps when used along with G + V sync, what is the point to still enable a frame cap? But even if you use one there is no extra latency impact based on another Battlenoncence Video... Correct?

I wish Nvidia made an official G Sync , Null, Reflex... setup Diagram, to follow... there is so much confusion. As if this done intentionally.... For Example, should we use ULLM (ultra & also Cap)? Supposedly not, cause also Ultra also caps, or does it only cap when GSync + Vsync enabled...

8:58 this is complete bs... im playing cs atm with vsync off at very old 60hz monitor buffer delay is 10-12ms game runs 150-230fps .. then again csgo... cs2... newer drivers and evolved code/tech ... just realized this video is 8 years old... anyways... i still have screentear, horizontal more than verrtical? like how the f... only game wich feels like ur playing with 30fps drops when ur running up to 230-250fps peaks .... what a poor job of coding and engine... any other game runs perfectly fine with vsync off and fast / adaptive ... must be DEI hires in valve these days.....

It’s about the engine mostly.
@AverageUser-10 күн бұрын
I think old game engines suffer from having vsync off. Like red dead for example I can get 100fps max settings but the screen tearing is nonstop because the game engine is ancient at this point.

this doesn't make sense. Gsync is a software solution created to prevent tearing. Tearing shouldn't happen -- it means, the tech doesn't work. And vsync should be virtually useless with Gsync.

WOW RTTS FPS limitter is like magic to framte time! very good tip, i will never trust in games fps limiter any more since every game depends on the Dev implementation

So, i should use a frame rate limiter a small amount below the max fps ( at 99% gpu) and try to keep gpu around 95% ?
@sapphireluv2705Ай бұрын
If you have ryzen cpu then i also suggest to use Ryzen Controller. Just set max temp into 85°C and then you will be fine. Your pc will be a lot stable and cooler. I always use RTSS and Ryzen Controller for my laptop. These two really help a lot to remove stuttering.

Would this work on a raspberry pi? Having a tiny lancache server would seem funny to use. You can set a external SSD as it's main boot and operating drive in the firmware so I don't see how it wouldn't work.

Anyone know if distance between mouse and receiver can affect delay? I've got my receiver plugged directly into the rear I/O which is about a meter away whereas the piece of paper that nobody reads that came with the mouse recommends a ~20cm distance, which is similar distance to a hub on the back of my desk, give or take 10cm or so

@michaelbakare7393Ай бұрын
Wait? I’m CPU bound, are you saying it’s good to keep it at ultra and keep frames uncapped to keep the latency low?
@Johnny31323Ай бұрын
@michaelbakare7393 My bad, i didn't give enough context. Nvidia's Low Latency Feature should be set to On always, Since ultra only helps if your game is maxing out ypur GPU at 100% workload, else it's useless and should be set to On. If you use the Ultra setting on a CPU bound setting, you will have a frame or so higher input lag. My bad for not giving enough context. Just set it to On and make sure your GPU is not maxed out, also don't use HAGS ( Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling) since it only helps with frame generation, and frame gen sucks for input lag. Also disable Game Mode in the windows Options, you can find it in the Search Bar. It only helps if you have a really and i mean really bloated system. It's served for Kids that install bull crap bloatware and keep them running as processes in the background that take CPU resources. If you don't have a bloated system and you're not running any apps other than maybe Nvidia Control Panel/ Steam in the background, then disable it. Else keep it On. More context for game mode: If it's enabled and you don't have a bloated System, it will use useless CPU threads to find 0 processes in the background, and throttle your FPS and Input lag. In many tests it leads to lower FPS, and worse frametime consistency.

@@Johnny31323 Do u know much about amd? im trying to get lowest possible latency on warzone and cant get anything to feel right, i have a 7800x3d 7900 xtx
@Johnny3132329 күн бұрын
@@addadd-pn7ds Not 100% sure on AMD. AMD does their pre rendered frames a bit differently than Nvidia. On Nvidia you're forced to set the Max Pre Rendered Frames to 1 otherwise you'll get tons of latency if it's higher. But on AMD i heard it's way better implemented and by default it's set to 3 but acts like it's set to 1. So maybe setting AntiLag to on would act like Ultra Low Latency and not "Low Latency" from Nvidia therefore making Anti Lag bad. In any case you can ask around the internet someone who has an AMD card and what's better on a CPU bound system... Anti lag On or Off. Also in some software like Lossless Scaling, Instead of recommending you to use Max Pre Rendered Frames set to 1 on AMD ( Anti lag on ), they recommend it to be set to default 3 or rather ( Anti lag Off ). Maybe AMD just has better latency overall and this just doesn't matter as much for amd, but idkk. For Nvidia, Low Latency mode must be set to On at all times, no matter what.
@Johnny3132329 күн бұрын
@@michaelbakare7393 Keep it at On and be Uncapped, but don't let your GPU workload exceed 95% it should always be below that number so you're CPU Bound. (Use lower Resolutions/ Graphics Settings/ Less or None off Anti Aliasing and so on.)
