I love the form factor of the M-Series cameras. I wish they made the smaller R-Series cameras look like this. The R10 without the R styled flash would be really nice.

If you want a camera in excellent working condition choose a refurbished one as shown Of course especially if you find one in lovely clean condition the chances are it will work fine ; just carry out some basic tests before purchasing from any specialist otherwise sold as seen. Some amateur repairmen like to buy them to do their own work on them which is great if you know what you are doing. But you don't want to pay a lot for one you know that hasn't been checked or serviced then have to fork out later for failure to function properly in the eventuality.

I have had the G95 since February 2023 and it is a beauty of a camera, with the 25 mm 1.7 lens you give it even more power and it already takes another level, I totally agree with you, for that value, you will not find anything better quality-price, without no doubt the best option.

went to KEGS in the 70s. Lived in and also went Pedmore C of E School. At Kegs we weren't allowed out at lunchtime; we used to nip out to the chippy round the corner. Was an avid fan of Stourbridge FC who had a decent team at that time. Probably well before your time but great memories including cycling up the hill from KEGS to Pedmore

I just bought a M200 with 22mm and 15-45mm lenses off eBay, for pretty much the same reasons you got your current camera and lens, and am waiting for it to arrive. I already own a Sony a6600 with an 18-135 lens and am happy with it. But the main reason I bought the M200 was because I wanted a light, compact camera to take with me everywhere I go, and mainly for landscapes and street photography. Something I can stick in a pocket, if I want. As nice as the a6600 is, it's relatively heavy and bulky, and I'll reserve it for serious video work and landscape work where I will need a lens with more reach. The lack of a substantial zoom lens on the M200 isn't a problem, as with 24MP you can often crop pretty strongly if you need to, without much, if any, loss in quality. I'm also getting old, and really don't want to lug a lot of stuff around with me anymore if I don't absolutely have to. 'Work smarter, not harder', and 'keep it simple, stupid' are my mottos now. Mobile phones can shoot OK photos, but I find their control interfaces a bit fiddly, and if you need to increase the display brightness to manage shooting in bright sunlight, it kills the battery. Dynamic range often isn't all that great due to their tiny image sensors.

Ah, Stourbridge - grew up there from about 1969 to 1988. The place is indelibly imprinted on my mind, naturally. So many memories… The pubs were ace! There were so many of them back then. The Waterloo in Wollaston (long gone sadly), was my main port of call during the early to mid 80’s, but there were many others that were frequented. To paraphrase a comment on the hoo ha about Stourbridge being the best place to live in the west Miglandz - “Stourbridge runs through me like a stick of Rock”…

The M100 with the 22mm has been a great replacement for my aging Panasonic GF1. As of 2023 I still haven't found a compact camera with interchangeable lenses that I would consider an upgrade to the M100. All of the Canon RF bodies are on the larger side, as are the newer camera bodies from Panasonic.

I’ve got this lens but I chose the M50 over the M100. Not as compact but still very small. I would love to give the M100 a try but I do really like the viewfinder on the M100.
