Well, so sign yet. I wouldn't worry about it. Even IF they release a mark iii your mark ii will still take great photos. Enjoy what you have!

You can use a bracket that supports mic and camera. Hoping it has a mic input and dpaf.

Keep an eye on the mk2 prices. When they suddenly go down, it's a great indicator that they're clearing the shelf for the mk3.

Any guesses when this might release? Still thinking CP+? Or a guess on the price range? I've been debating the Mark ii, but I've heard the battery life isn't all that great and of course no external mic...

Yeah probably CP+. I wouldn’t get the Mark ii when the iii is on the horizon. Battery won’t be any better though and mic input is still unconfirmed.

Well... CP+ came and went. Now I'm hearing more rumors, something leaked by Nokishita? Not sure if that's a reliable source... Getting tired of waiting lol.

I think mic inputs without shoe mounts need to happen on these compact cameras. I'm sure various mics will follow, in the style of the Rode Videomic Me. I don't know why anyone would pick up the G7X II with the M50 the same price currently. But if this is a real preview for the Mark III, it looks pretty good and - surprisingly for Canon - somewhat groundbreaking.

Yeah with a hot shoe mounted mic on top you’d loose the functionality of the selfie screen, which would enrage the majority of vloggers. Edutige have a small range of tiny 3.5mm mics that could plug directly into the side of the camera. You won’t get the directional benefit of a shotgun mic, but at least it’s a small boost in audio quality and with a dead cat it also combats wind very effectively. I think these photos are the real deal, because the design is so conventionally Canon. What do you reckon?

Tom Edwards I agree with you, I think they look authentic. So, good for Canon. I would not be surprised if they do 4K without dual pixel AF, like the M50, though!

From what I've heard about the G7X lll, there is supposed to be a new processor, upgraded to Digic 8.

I'd be a bit surprised if there wasn't 4k. Personally I have no interest in 4k, but these days it's expected for marketing purposes. Where did you see the specs?

Me too. The autofocus was a weak point for the first two models.

if mark 3 comes with 4k video recording , higher frame rate and dual pixel auto focus than it may be a better choice over sony rx series

Haha there’s always a devil in my ear. He just got a bit louder that’s all! I used a relatively cheap no brand ring light I bought off Amazon. I think it’s 17”. I think the lighting in this video looks good, but I was too close to the GoPro so I look a bit soft.
