In theory waterbenders and earth venders should also be able to fly by manipulating their element while it’s below them. If they’re able to make water and earth levitate. They should be able to stand/float in the water/earth that is leviating

13:52 Water benders have always been able to phase change their element from liquid to solid and gas. It's only logical that at least a few earth benders could do the same. It's most likely done by excessively vibrating/slowing the vibration of the molecules in the material until they change states. With this interpretation any (material) bender could do the same, all they really have to do is move it really fast or hold it very still depending on which state they want.

There is alot of things you could've added to this video. Like how techniques are learned by studying other elements. Iroh did learn lightning from the royal class but he also invented redirection by studying the fluidity of water martials. Or in the comics it is shown you have to have a talent to learn metal bending, you can be a normal person but some people just have the inate skill to learn techniques quicker. Toph taught a school after scouting a few students with a natural talent for metal bending.

Oh and how Yun was known as the false avatar because of his mastery of earth and how they believed he could water bend due to his earth matching water techniques.

You're forgetting the fact that Aang was at the northern water tribe as well. It is an example of the rare contrived writing the show can have. They depicted as though Aang just wasn't paying attention while Katara became a master. This is frustrating, given the fact that in the episode, water bending scroll. They showed that Aang had more natural talent than Katara. However, Katara teaching Aang water bending works really well in the rest of the show.

People generally have a hard time grasping the difference between narrated time and narrating time (the time passing in-universe vs the time passing on-screen). Star Wars VII suffered the same issue, and so did a lot of other movies. There's a reason some resort to explicitly spelling out time passage similar to location cards.

Bending in ATLA looked graceful, magical, and gave every benders a style that reflects on their personalities. By looking at Korra you can't tell what bending they use if you see only the movements. It makes the world so bleak and bland.

I have a theory on combustion bending. What is the difference between flammable and combustible? Well flammability indicates that something can burn with relatively low heat and normal atmospheric pressure. But combustibility indicates that something can burn but needs high heat and or high pressure. What does this mean? Well fire generation is the ability to burn during normal conditions. Normal temperatures, normal pressures. And this affects fire benders too. We know this because the prison cell for Pli was underground in a really cold iceberg. Which makes the air not only really cold but also really high pressure. Along with a mask over her head. So high pressure and temperatures interferes with fire bending. And what we know from combustion benders is that they are drowned to awaken their combustion bending. Isnt that a coincidence? Water is a higher pressured fluid and can be conduct heat away from the body making them cold. This means there are 2 ways that combustion bending can be awakened. 1 is the mammalian diving reflex which occurs when your face is submerged in cold water. This makes your oxygen intake lower and your blood pressure higher to last as long as possible. And since we know that fire bending is internal, the high blood pressure to generate the combustion inside them and release it telekinetically from their head where at first they might be having a minor stroke due to the high blood pressure instead of generating combustion outside of their body into the air. But since generating combustion outside is futile, one might randomly frantically try to fire bend and accidentally discover a burning sensation in their head as the fire wells up inside them. It hurts so much they have to let it out but no matter how much they wave their arms, they cant. The excruciating pain is too much to bare on top of the drowning and at some point, they let the heat out from their head and boom-combustion bending. 2 is that the bending is still external but needs to be pressurized and that the drowning was never necessary but only the pressure of the liquid and the desperation. In this manner, combustion bending could very well be very common like metal or lightning bending, just that it never occurs to anyone because no one ever gets into a situation where they have to fire bend in a high pressure atmosphere unless they are being deliberately drowned to do just that. Which also explains why metal bending and lighting bending used to be so rare but as people discovered how to awaken it in a more controlled way, a lot of people turn out to have the potential, just not the environment to awaken it. In this way, combustion bending could be more common from putting someone in a pressurized chamber, called a hyperbaric chamber. A hyperbaric chamber is a medical device that increases air pressure and forces more oxygen into the patient's bloodstream. In this case, the chamber is an alternative controlled and non lethal environment where talented firebenders can try to combustion bend. And once they learn it, its like riding a bike without training wheels. They will be able to combustion bend. But perhaps without the life or death pressure, the combustion bending may be a lesser product compared to the more cruel approach of drowning their victims. Producing a small, short ranged, and weaker explosion. I much prefer the first theory but what do you think?

I'm actually pretty behind all of these Pavi and Nisha leaks so far. All I care about is that the show is well thought-out, well paced and just good. But I would also very much like it if Pavi and Nisha could reconnect with all of the previous Avatars and address Vaatu (because even if neither one of them has him inside of her, he's still an issue).

My theory for why there's two of them? Either whatever the world needs to be fixed requires two Avatars, since the Avatar is intrinsically connected to the planet, or Korra was ripped in half before dying and died in two pieces, thus spawning two Avatars. The second one is dumb, but I think it'd be funny if it was something that simple, and no Avatar had ever survived being bisected before. Alternatively, there's the whole Vaatu/Dark Avatar thing. Since Vaatu was going to regrow from within Raava, Korra dying could've passed both Vaatu and Raava on to her successor, who had to be two in order to accommodate both spirits. A light and dark Avatar lineage, both spawning from the only Avatar to ever possess both Raava and Vaatu in one body.
