Normally I'd never listen to music like this but over time few artists have just clicked with me in a different way. First it was Joshua redman, then chick kora, Gordon goodwin, Glen miller... the next thing I know Joey popped up on my radar and I can't help but listen. He is even better live. Just transports you to an entire other universe. It's inspiring and makes me want to play and get better everyday.

Having started playing and exploring jazz at such a young age -- before he had any notion of what being an "adult" or a "man" meant -- it feels to me that Joey still carries with him that childlike freedom and lightness to anything he plays. It's so special.
