this is really awesome! I’m looking for land now to do something similar but land is like 170k where I’m at for a 1/3 an acre which sucks. lol but I’m looking at using a steel barn as a base to help save some cost. Hey Sir, what type of heat do you use in garage? I see you are in PA, I am also. So I could not run water in my shop since I do not have a constant heat source. I burn wood, and do not have insulation. So it gets cold when the fire goes out. Thanks. Nice complex!

Love how your ideal came together, you def have a ultimate bachelor pad, that second floor will come in handy when you finally bring in a partner, because she going to need her own closet space! Trust me I know lol.. Which will leave you with space for a few little ones.. And the fact that you can always build out a little bit if you need to.. Love to see the younger gen take life by the balls and just do it!! I come from a construction back ground and every time I watch a young family or single person through up a beautiful barndo I say man I should have gone that route 20 years ago!! I’m from Germany so I really don’t know how this works in the States but I watch another channel from NC and they get inspected for every little thing they’re building. Just asking out of interest :)

Absolute banger of a place my man! Were you able to secure a home loan for the initial cost? Not sure how that all works, I’m assuming you pay out of pocket for upgrades or HEL’s

Thank you! I used a traditional loan but I saved up a lot to keep the loan amount about half of the total project cost (including land). A construction loan would be a way to do it. I made sure I paid off the land before applying for the loan to build which will help your overall balance sheet.

Fantastic job and way to keep plugging away at building your house that meets your needs! A double 4 post lift in that back right corner would clean up a lot of space, mustang and Jeep up top with Land rover and Z4 on the ground then can still park your daily next to it or up front like you have it.

Normally a shed would be out swinging but the type of door I used are meant to be inswing. Luckily I have plenty of room to open them in front of the mower.

That wall has to have a fire rating, which involved doing drywall the whole way up to the roof line. Next is finish the upstairs and add a porch 🤘

As of now I enjoy the simplicity and low upkeep of my landscaping 😂. If I do a deck, I'll do it myself so I'd probably just go traditional treated lumber.

Now that you have shown everyone what you have built and what you own , you need to think about security to keep all that . German shepards are preferd . along with Malinois , or maybe a pair of Dobermans . Fences and gates are a must have .Cameras and electronics are only afffective after the fact . Locks can all be defeated . Dogs keep out even the most serious trespassers with good intensions or bad ones .

I don't have heated floors and I love the concrete floors. They seem to regulate the temperature nicely. Maybe a little cool in winter but I have more than enough heat from my wood stove. They seem to help keep the place cool in the summer.

No heat/AC in the shop. I use a large window unit in the living space which works well for now. I plan to do a full system before I finish the second floor.

I apologize for commenting this here lol but on that 600hp Mustang you turbocharged a few years back what did you do to the transmission? Did you swap it or build it?
