You did an amazing job. If the owner doesnt contact you within 8 weeks for a follow up, you need to report that horse's owner to the authorities for animal neglect

It looks to me, that this horse would be much more comfortable with this type of a shoe providing cushioning and stability for the broken coffin bone while it heals.

O.m.g that is absolutely disgusting,, the owner wants reporting horse taken away, AND NEVER EVER BE ABLE TO KEEP ANY ANIMAL AT ALL, IVE NEVER IN MY LIFE SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE, POOR HORSE,BLESS ITS HEART,,,, I HONESTLY HOPE THE HORSE ISN'T GIVEN BACK TO EVER HAS OWNED IT AND DEFINITELY NEGLECTED IT BIG TIME,,, NO ANIMAL DESERVES TO BE TREATED LIKE THET,THEY CANT CARE FOR THEMSELVES XXXX

Most Paso finos have those tough hard hooves for sure! I've also noticed a lot that seem to have those low slung heels too.

Equines that live wild travel for miles every day and wear their feet naturally. Ones with bad feet tend not to survive.

Does ringbone hurt like a bone-on-bone joint? I, too, didn't know how ringbone affected that all-important joint. Are these gaited breeds more prone to this?

The owner cannot claim poverty as to why this stud was allowed to get like this, as Arabians are the most expensive horses. It is like having a Bugatti Beyron and not changing the tires.

I hope the horse isn't misdiagnosed, or faces other problems. Ossification isn't arthritis, it's tissue calcification. Surgery makes it worse. Arthritis is a comorbidity of ossification. Animals, including domestic livestock and pets, can have Fibrodysplasia Ossification Progressiva. Heterotopic Ossification can impact anybody without FOP. Either can be mistaken for other conditions like cancer or osteo. Hope this helps.
